We need to accept that sometimes poor people will die because they are poor.

Of course we do. We already have. It's extremely unfortunate that it happens, but there are efforts around the world to help feed the hungry, erradicate disease and help in other ways, but it's a reality that not all can or will be helped and some will die.

 

Specifically here in the US. And I am talking a much broader context of this statement. For example, as one reason for cutting social programs.

 

No. A people is one big family that should solidarily care for its weaker members, and help them up on their feet.
