Hello I was the animal rights activist views on this type of hunting. I have considered taking up varmint/predator hunting. I have loved camping and target shooting and hunting was a way to meld the two hobbies but I also have a love for the beauty of nature and wildlife so I never took up hunting despite having many friends and family members that enjoy it.

However recently something has changed my mind. I have seen while observing the wild coyotes kill deer and dogs and other beautiful animals and I am recently planed a trip to the badlands and have seen bison break their ankles on the multiple holes the prairie dog make so I have considered taking up varmint and predator hunting because honestly I for every coyote I kill I am saving dear.

So do all you animal rights activist out there relay have a problem with killing the coyote and bobcat that preys on animals such as deer fawns and other animals such as that?
I mean do you think it is bad killing a coyote to save a deer?
What would you do if you had a rifle and saw a coyote about to slaughter a deer?
Would you let deer die a slow painful death as it is eaten alive or save it by killing the coyote with a quick shot?

Why would you feel the need to intervene in either case. If it is nature doing nature things, leave it alone and let it happen

so its okay for coyote to eat a deer alive (or your dog for that matter) but not ok for a human to kill a coyote because its nature?

I find coyotes every bit as good to look at as deer. deer are pests where I live. and I wonder about a guy who professes to love nature but can take from another creature that which is most precious to himself.

Taking the life of any living creature is a significant and irreversable act, it saddens me to think of anyone taking joy in killing.

Pests have usually been introduced by people, and sadly it's often necessary to kill pests. I do think that it's better for the pests to be shot than to leave poison that will kill them slowly and painfully from internal bleeding.

Unfortunately we humans have (*)(*)(*)(*)ed up the environment pretty badly, I for one think it's more responsible for us to intervene to restore balance quickly than to leave the environment to recover on it's own (which would probably take at least a few hundred years).

I would kill coyotes because they don't naturally belong in most of the U.S. They were desert/prairie critters, and now they are spreading to the rest of the country. I'd rather a deer die by coyote than by car or starvation, though.
