Unless you need meat for your family, fishin' and huntin' is cruel. I buy meat at the market where no animals are harmed.

Unusual choice...What type of catfish do you usually catch? I lost a monster blue two years ago and it still pisses me off to this day. Can't give you an accurate weight, but it would have been the biggest fresh water fish I've ever caught. 30 minutes of fighting just to lose it 10 foot from the shore.

Usually flatheads or channel cat. I've only seen one albino cat, when living down in Oklahoma. Occasionally, I'll hear about someone catching one here.

I wouldn't be surprised if the one you lost wrapped your line around a log.

The few times I've gone fishing, the fish send out notes to one another which say "it's vacation time, again" and have a good laugh at me.

This (white sturgeon) is the one fish I never could catch. This is despite having a good sturgeon rod/reel outfit, using the typical 30 or 40 lb test line, sturgeon leaders, and good bait as commonly used in San Francisco Bay (ghost shrimp, mud shrimp, & grass shrimp). After moving to Florida I've caught 2 dozen different species of fish, but I always think back to my San Francisco Bay days, and wonder why I could never catch a sturgeon. Oh well.
