What of Romney came out and said, "Hey White people, vote for me because I'm the same color as you." How do you think that would go over?

 

It is odd that there should exist such a thing as 'African Americans for Obama', almost as if African Americans should vote for Obama simply based upon race, regardless of their individual political ideologies.

Well, that IS pretty much what happened in 2008. More blacks voted than ever before - which is cool. But they only voted so that they could vote for a black candidate - which is overtly racist, and not cool.

 

Why would blacks vote for a Republican? Posts like this aren't going to help your cause.

I'd wager that if Powell, West, Cain, or even Rubio were to be the GOP candidate, they'd likely gain more votes than a white republican would.

 

I would guess that 95% of the people that voted for McCain were white.

 

I think that is understandable. It has to be a bases of great pride to have an African/American to get elected to the highest office in the land. Much like I am sure J F Kennedy picked up most of the Catholic votes.

 

They would lose a lot of the white Republican vote though.

Blacks won't vote Republican because Democrats have turned blacks into multi-generation welfare slaves. Democrats have, for decades, lied to blacks and told them that they CANNOT succeed, and so they need to suck at the government teat. Democrats have, for decades, LIED to blacks and told them that they CANNOT compete in the workplace against white people. Democrats have spent DECADES de-humanizing blacks - and all for the sake of buying their votes.

And look how well it has turned out for blacks.

 

Until we start seeing people for who they are, then racism is always going to exist and I abhor anyone who tries to tap into these artificial collectivist ideologies based on superficial skin color.

It was funny, a few months ago a reporter tried to claim that the Iowa caucuses were basically irrelevant because Iowa is "too white". The thing though is that Iowa helped put Obama in the White House in '08.

To some extent yes. But look at the respect and borderline adoration Tea Partiers have for Allen West. We've heard that the Tea Party is just a bunch of racist since it's resurrection, but West with his conservative views is pretty well openly embraced.
