MS people have unlimited- ability to do stupid things. desktop.ini files is one more rubbish things people need to delete them all.
I think that would delete yer desktop files... ... an' den ya wouldn't have no desktop... ... might even cause yer `puter to stop workin'.
HK, Please put these in the appropriate forum, which is computers and tech. They don't belong in science.
At least one source I checked said that it is not recommended to delete such files. They seem to control how folders are presented
A Desktop.ini file is a file that determines the way a folder is displayed by Windows. These files can be found in any folder, anywhere on your computer, as long as that folder has a custom appearance set for it. Desktop.ini files control things like the icon used for that folder and its localized name.
