If the perpetrator had possessed a concealed carry permit, it would most certainly have been in the news, to be used as fuel as to why the legal carrying of concealed firearms causes more harm than it prevents.

Indeed you did not. You provided no explanation for how tactics, training and equipment is sufficient to overcome odds of approximately eighteen-to-one. Instead you are expecting others to take your position at face value rather than digging for more conclusive answers, and simply accept your statement that it just will, as if nothing more needs to be said or discussed.

tactics, training, and equipment could require only one shot, regardless of the capacity of the magazine.

The problem is not the police, the problem are all of the militarized federal groups like the militant arm of the IRS. Yeah the IRS now have groups of enforces armed with AR15's and select fire weapons.

At last count over 200k armed feds (more than the number of US Marines we have) spent almost 2 BILLION dollars on weaponry in the past 5 years or so.

THESE are the people we need to worry about. The feds have created their own private army.

And they will be backing up the PDs nation wide. It has to look like a law enforcement problem first.

If such a thing happened can you imagine how the anarchist democrats would respond? Whole cities would be burning. I think the police would have their hands full with more than just dug in 2A supporters.

To enforce such a thing they would have to bring the might of the military to bear, and the military would never support such a thing. Most would rebel against such orders, and by their oaths would be required to do so.

I can't speak as much for the police, though I've had relatives who are/were police officers, but I've been around the military my entire life. They wouldn't stand for it in the rank and file.

Well I have been around and part of (police). I will say I disagree.
Now that said, I will repeat. I don't see it actually happening at least not in our life times.
But there is nothing wrong with vigilance and preparedness.
Such things may come about not through political upheaval but by other means or disasters.

They can't even destroy ISIS, how would they fair against a hundred million pissed off Americans armed to the teeth? They can't bomb their own country, that's counter productive. They can't win in a ground war, the numbers are to skewed in favor of the citizens. How many active duty soldiers would jump ship carrying everything they could with them, remember, most veterans are pro 2-A. So now the insurgency would have pilots, a navy, tanks, and a lot of other useful stuffs. And as the other guy said, many veterans, especially special forces veterans, would jump to the aid of that cause, training civilians. Know where you would be durring all this? Being hanged. Know why? You would be committing treason against the people while supporting tyrants.

You are the one who doesn't understand warfare and how it is wages.

He doesn't understand, a pissed off guy in a cave could kill hundreds of people with a bomb made of nothing but a scrap propane tank and improvised explosives.

Welcom to America. A pressure cooker in any major store (including goodwill for under 2$). Propane tanks in front of most gas stations, super markets, and outdoor stores. Oh! And the chemicals needed to make the explosives can also be picked up at any wal mart, target, or Costco. (Or a cattle farm)

    That's not even mentioning firearms.

As I said, you'd be swinging, and there wouldn't be any body to stop it. Make your choices wisely when that time comes, the last thing I'd want is a bunch of pissed off people that I attempted to remove a right from deciding my future.

The ignorance of the subject is telling, it tells me he hasn't actually thought about this in a realistic manner. He just accepts the drum beat played out by the media.

Then police officers have none of the above, when they need to discharge eighty five rounds of ammunition just to hit a suspect once.

If that were true, then it would be a sad statement on the police; however i've read stories of police taking down a suspect using less then 10 rounds in a couple of cases, 3 shots. You may criticize the police but how many people have you shot in self defense and killed??

I believe its relevant because your hung up on criticizing the police on their shooting skills, so if you are going to criticize them wouldn't you be a hypocrite if you haven't been in their same position before and used your weapon and not given how many shots you may have fired before killing the subject? Or have you never shot and killed anyone before?

Anecdotal evidence strongly suggests that civilian shootings use less rounds that the PD in self defense shootings.

As I related in another post in a different thread, in '70 or '71 in a riot I once witnessed a fellow rush a para in the NI with a steel pipe...the para shot the fellow 9 or 10 times at close range, one round through the heart, and the fellow still reached and killed the para with the pipe before collapsing and dying.

My point in the post was, if you haven't walked in their shoes before, you have no idea what its like.
