I"ve got a Master's id education, and most of a Ph.D. in education. I've also got a B.S. in Biology and a Master's in Biology. I can also holler redneck truths if needed.

Truths so universal that they are common in any culture, and require no particular esoteric language for expression. common sense truths. often they are expressed as aphorisms.

All I meant was purveyors or originators of proverbs, or wisdom expressed in a folky colloquial style or tone as opposed to collegiate or esoteric prose.

    So either these familar aphorisms

It is better to be smarter than you appear than to appear smarter than you are.
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.
Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Or points made using a rural informal tone and vocabulary.. think Mark Twain or Will Rogers. as opposed to William Buckley.
