I saw the movie of the Borat that goes to the USA. He seems to satire the jewish people good. But is there a real place like where Borat describes? Kazikstan? I guess this would be the place to post this since "Latest world news" is about isreal and islam. Any one know about Kazikstan?
Kazakhstan is a real place but by all accounts it is nothing like what was depicted in the film. The makers had developed a general parody of that part of the world and then picked a country name pretty much at random. It was quite controversial when the film came out with the Kazakhstan government being quite unhappy with it, not without some justification.
Americans ...shame on you, and your school system not my cop of tea but they have 50 % of white people so not bad place to be
KAZAKHSTAN LEARNS TO LOVE--- BORAT - (the movie ) Read and learn http://www.cacianalyst.org/?q=node/4331 One should'nt really be surprised at the average american's foggy notions of world geography -,mostly fed to them by the Movies. ..
Indeed...The opening shots were filmed in a Romanian village and the people of the village were rightly angry at Sacha-Cohen's patronizing and condescending depiction of their life and culture. The film was not funny and relied on cheap laughs which were garnered as a result of picking on the weak and vulnerable. Mostly he depicted others as being intolerant of jews which appears to be his stock in trade. How ironical then, that the subject matter of his 'humour' are other minorities.
5 year old kid in Turkey knows there is a country nearby Russia called Kazakhstan, and yet, in an intelligent political forum here, americans once again proves the word "dumb" is not an insult for them but actually a sad reality. what is the budget of Turkey's ministry of education? what is the budget of USA's ministry of education? how come our kids can spot Singapore and Kazakhstan on the map but your kids cant. i dont want to say "dumb american" but really guys, you guys are really dumb. really, not as an insult, but really it is a fact.
Isn't this thread supposed to be in "humor" part of this forum? Otherwise this is one of the dumbest threads ever. Dude, are you banned in Google? Or you can't find a country 1/3 square of USA in the middle of Asia? Or both?
In all honesty, I don't think the OP is serious... It's the 9th largest country in the world, so pretty difficult not to spot on any world map. Never heard of "Baikonur Cosmodrome" -- I guess you did? It's on the News (at least here) every couple of months when a Soyuz explodes (no, -- just kidding KGB_Agent ).
*scared* Oh...wait a minute.... *searching for nukes* *more than 10000 nukes found* No, they won't. I am glad you noted that. Otherwise another Ariane 5 joke could be here.
whats interesting in this part of the world to me is the line between european and asian is so blurred. Many of the people share both western european and east asain features.
The Brits no longer do that.. because it was ultimately a failure. Why do you think they were shut out of the oil business in Iraq and Iran??
Ah ! you're just jealous COZ Britain was so fantastically successful and - Germany LOST ALL ITS COLONIES ...
It was the WIND OF CHANGE - and the more astute British withdrew + bought shares in US Oil companies. BTW - did you know Iran Shah's financed large portion of North Sea (Brent crude ) Gas/Oil exploration costs ? I dont know whether the Iranians ever realized any gains from North Sea OIl .- Another large Gas field was discovered last week off our North West coast. BP 's got licence for more explaration fields. ..... .
Margot : Massive gas field found off Blackpool -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The huge scale of a natural gas field discovered under the north-west of England has been revealed, potentially revolutionising the UK's energy outlook and creating thousands of jobs, but environmental groups are alarmed at the controversial method by which the gas is extracted. Preliminary wells drilled around Blackpool have uncovered 200 trillion cubic feet of gas equal to the kind of recoverable reserves of big energy exporting countries such as Venezuela, according to Cuadrilla Resources, a small energy company which has the former BP boss Lord Browne on its board. It said up to 800 more wells might be drilled in the region, creating 5,600 jobs and promising a repeat of the "shale gas revolution" that swept the US, sending local energy prices spinning downwards. Even if only a relatively small fraction of gas could be exploited, it could trigger an rush of drilling in other parts of the UK at a time when Britain is running out of North Sea reserves. http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2...ool-dallas-sea Lots of lovely new jobs by the looks of things, and if there's one place that needs them it's Blackpool. Hopefully it will also help keep gas prices down for a few decades. .....
The Shah was getting 13% of Iran's oil revenues into HIS bank account.. when everyone else was getting 50-50 revenue shares.. The British model stank and caused them to lose oil concessions.
geography ???!!! they know completely nothing about the world outside usA, their Movies are based on stereotypes and have nothing to do with art or knowledges, its more like pedagogy this is essential/center of usa http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puritan
So your saying that the US movies indicate a general lack of knowledge about the world outside of the US, and have nothing to do with knowledge, so they are therefore pedagogic? Interesting...
You know, its comments like that which make this movie all the more hilarious. He genuinely pissed off a LOT of people making that movie, which actually makes it much funnier than it might have been had they all been in on the joke. Correct. It was not just funny. It was hilarious. Source? Do you have any actual evidence that Turk kids are more educated than American kids on average or is this merely your personal opinion? I am not sure if you knew this, but statements do not necessarily become "fact" merely because you say them.
LOL. Thanks everyone for your response. LOL, I read through all of these responses for the past 10 min, and I have never been more entertained in my life. I never could have imagined this would get as much attention as it did. Again thanks. Also, there was some interesting things I did not know about other countries connections and affiliations with Kazakstan. I only got a B in Geography, 2 times. My nest post will be about Bruno. LOL.
