That doesn't fit the "outlaw weapons of war!" narrative so the libs are nowhere to be found. Where are the press conferences saying "my life is more important than your right to own an AR-15?

That's exactly what it is. This has only been a "thing" the last generation or so. So who are the parents, whats the family structure these days? What are our morals? Our culture?

Those are the real issues, but to look at that is going to tell a whole generation of parents that their way was wrong. (And the current people with the same beliefs) Lets ignore that and keep focusing on the tool. An unarmed population is easier to control.

Rich obviously you have not been paying attention,we have had pretty much the highest gun deaths and wounding's in the world for my lifetime and I'm 77.And before my life we were racking up the shootings,we have never tamed the Wild West.

I dunno, I never gave a damn about him one way or another much like gun control isn't an important issue for me either. However, you can't deny that it was liberals who used him as their pawn and threw him into the spotlight praising him all the while. Heck, we even had a poster here so enamored of the whole shebang that she gleefully cried how angry teenagers are wonderful. Seems only fair that conservatives bash him as he slides downward just as liberals practically worshiped the ground he walked on while on the way up.

You do kinda bring up a point I'd considered during the middle of HoggMania though: What IS gonna happen to his mental state when he realizes his fifteen minutes of fame are up and his expiration date expired? And I say this only because awhile back - well before Hogg became famous - I wrote a paper for a college psychology class on the effects of fame on children and the long-term effects when the fame fades away. Many of them become - well, it doesn't end well for a lot of them (see: Lohan, Lindsay). I'm actually a few classes away from a psychology minor now so that's where I'm coming from. Studying what happens to Hogg would probably make for a fascinating paper on the subject.

 

Hogg finally said something today (yesterday?) which made sense: He said the media attention these attacks get only encourages more and more of the same. And he's absolutely right.

These attacks never used to happen with the frequency they do now. What is the difference? Why have things changed today versus, say, 25 years ago? It's not the guns. People had just as many guns back then as they do now.

No, the change is the constant 24-hour news cycle. The non-stop attention - and celebrity status - afforded these murderers by the media. That's the reason why we are only seeing more and more.

 

Personally I think it's two things:

He has a very straight ahead haircut, looks very third Reich.

He is arrogant to a fault, chalking up any disagreement over gun policy as his opposition actively desiring the murders of children.
