This is horrible! Why cannot the troops go home by now?

Where are the Republicans and Trump supporters and why aren't they out there bringing food to the troops and offering their support? The Republicans leaders need to get this organized Pronto. It's time.

I guarantee you that Trump Supporters helping the troops is not the image the democrats want. They would send the troops home to their families garenteed.

Thats a good thought, but I doubt anyone would be granted access to do such a thing. And if they were... I can see the MSM headlines now- "Trump supporter caught trying to poison troops protecting capital!!!!!!"

It would of course come out a week later that the food wasn't posioned, but the 'amended' reports would get roughly 1% of the media attention of the original (fake) story and we'd still be dealing with 'you tried to poison them' for months and years...

The handful of yaholes that took protesting way too far really stirred up a wasps nest that we unfortunately have to let settle now. Thx guys... :steamed:

It should be noted tho that in this atmosphere of growing popularity for things like gun bans, coerced innoculations, secession... treating the military poorly is an especially unwise move. Not that I would expect the disconnected establishment elites running the show to understand such things.

@modernpaladin True, which is why it needs to be organized by a republican senator or something. It can also be done remotely by donating. It would lose the optics, but the troops deserve a good hearty meal.

Why mention Trump? He’s no longer president and irrelevant.

There is no need for troops in DC. The bad guys are already inside the gates, having stolen the election.

Is the troop presence a sign of the guilty conscience of those who perverted the election?

What am I missing here!?! I was under the impression that the military feeds it's troops from their own messes, or are these particular troops being catered by some outside outfit as a political payback? Just askin'....

You may have missed it but the insurrection and attempt to steal the election was unsuccessful. The bad guys and gals are in their parents basement trying to scrub their social media accounts...except the shaman, I heard he is asking his mommy for organic food for his sensitive stomach.

I suspect there is an ongoing troop presence because of online chatter bt various right wing groups indicatimg a potential for another insurrection attempt.

    According to the OP link:

"The Post Inaugural Security Mission is a multi-state taskforce, including Michigan’s 1000 personnel, under the command and control of the Washington D.C. National Guard. A decision was made by the leadership in Washington, D.C., to provide contracted meal service for the troops there. This contract was awarded and is monitored by the National Guard Bureau. Michigan’s Adjutant General has communicated all concerns directly to the Chief of the National Guard, General Daniel R. Hokanson, who has engaged to address the reported shortcomings of the current food service contract."

It sounds to me like either the food budget is inadequate, or someone is skimming from it.

I'm willing to bet good money that with a little digging it would be found the holder of the "current food service contract" has solid Democratic Party ties and milking it for every centavo to be had. Of course that would require the MSM to remove their heads from their asses when it come to Democrat malfeasance, so it's unlikely to happen. Just eat the wormy bread boys, consider it extra protein.

Thats dumb. Then why aren't their troops in other places where there is federal property and riots? Do the *******s in DC think they deserve special protections while they feed the troops dog **** for chow? ****ing politicians. The country would be just fine without any of the losers in DC on either side of the aisle.

I haven't read of other places where the potential exists for armed insurectuonist to depose the current US President and install the loser of the last election in his place. Can you link those?

The DC politicians do need special protections when the potential for an armed insurrection exist.

I served for 11 years and while the food could hardly be considered gourmet, it was by no means dog food.

I agree. Voters should do a better job of electing competent policy based government officials instead ideological demoguages.

Remember the time Pelosi said walls are immoral? Why need troops to secure DC like Third World African leaders who stoled the the election and fearing for their lives afterward?

lol, from the sounds of it they are getting t-rats, which is pretty much dog food. I’m HOPING the shithead politicians are not being so inconsiderate that they are feeding the troops that garbage when they should be giving them the same food they serve the politicians.

and no, I don’t think the politicians deserve special protection from the military. DC police, secret service, and whatever other security they contract should be just fine. Our capital shouldn’t be a fortress from its own people. If it gets burned down, the people will rebuild if they think it’s worth rebuilding. Which it probably isn’t. It’s pretty useless really.

    I would hope that too.

This sounds like a middle east type government full of regime changes by force. Doesn't sound like what the founders had in mind when they wrote the constitution.

What do you think would have happened if the Capitol rioters had succeeded in getting to Pence or other representatives on January 6th?

While I understand why it seems like a double-standard for them to have protection, I don't believe anyone in the USA would agree that our place on the global stage would remain intact if several representatives were maimed and massacred that day.

i didnt say anything about regime change. If it gets burned down they can govern on zoom or some ****. It will work just as well. I think theyve all become too full of themselves.

I don't think anything would have happened if they got to pence. There would probably have been a lively conversation. Maybe all of the politicians should have been there and actually talked to the rioters instead of hiding behind security. maybe the one security guard would not be dead right now. his life was worth more than a politician's life anyway. Soldiers put their lives on the line for this country. so should they. If they are not willing to lay down their lives they shouldnt be in office. they are horrible at their jobs anyway. I think the entire thing got blown waaaayyyyy out of proportion by the media. Oh NO! they stole something from pelosi's desk. The horror. now its just a lame excuse to turn DC into a fortress isolated from those they supposedly govern but mostly just screw over.

If they are so worried about security they should all just meet online.

You honestly believe they would have sat down for a spot of tea and hashed out their differences? Seriously?

There is a marked difference between law enforcement and the military and civil servants. Law enforcement personnel and the military are trained to handle disorderly people. We don't elect our leaders to fulfill such responsibilities, nor should we.

You are downplaying what happened. Somebody stole a laptop and tried to sell it to another country. Others defecated on the premises. Others attacked a police officer. It was hardly some people out have some harmless fun. It's ridiculous to suggest otherwise.
