And went on to create ancient Greece, with its lasting philosophically that knowledge is gained through reason and logic and the birth of democracy, then to the Roman empire, to Christendom which more recently became known as the West. Then we have the English Empire, America and modern democracy. Christianity's impact through much of that is huge, documenting Greek/ Roman knowledge, extending education and health care to common people. We began to live longer, strong family values, community, safer, better educated and property rights. Combined giving us the greatest civilization the world has seen with proud achievement in science, health and arts. If all were the same we'd see the same result around the world, not isolated in the white European countries. Yes other civilizations have had their moments in history and still may grow stronger such as China and India, but they are also taking on many western values and ideas that has seen them drive forward. Even then its hard to see them lifting their poorest to the high standards we have since they rely on massive populations. Ive no idea why people of European backgrounds wouldnt be proud of their ancestors achievements, they left us free in the best place on earth to live. I think we can see people voting with their feet on that one. Now other civilizations, cultures and races have had their moments in the sun from time to time, i have no issue with others being proud of their race, culture, history ect. But we are the West and while recognizing others we have our own to maintain! When in Rome.....
The achievements of my people and the Latinos are world's heritage , they don't belong just to one race or nationality . The achievements of my people and the Latinos were achieved through open-mindedness and cosmopolitanism that was never narrowed down to races or cultures . *For those with geographical gaps Lazio is the province Rome stands .
China and India had advanced civilizations as well -- China invented the concept of civil service exams which was a step beyond anything Europe had at the time. There's also the invention of paper in Egypt and the invention of our number system by Indians (i've seen the instructions for multiplying with Roman Numerals, and us ditching that system is probably why we can do advanced mathematics). Civilization advances by trading ideas, it's much like open source computer software -- you take what you have and add or subtract from it to make it work better. It wasn't invented by a single group and let loose on the world, it's hacked by every group in every generation. PS. I have some pride in my ancestors for things they actually did.
Yes i mentioned other civilizations have had the moments. If all a civilization is, is exchanging ideas they'd all be pretty much the same, yet they arent - far from it.
The Biological Significance of Race>>>>>>>http://threehegemons.tripod.com/threehegemonsblog/id139.html
Here's a hint; Clan of the Cave Bear is fiction-a novel. There is no 'missing link'. You know absolutely nothing about Neanderthal man, his behaviour or habits. Nor do palaeontologists-beyond educated guesses.
Who are these 'serious students of modern history' who believe Hitler was a socialist? Talking of dictators you fail to mention that communist genocidal maniac, Pol Pot, who was financed and supported by America.
No you should be ashamed to be white. I mean really, this is such a sad thread. Did I step into time machine, is it 1993 ? PS> Do we do this with other mammals ? Should we have brown dog pride day or something?
All of had ancestors who survived. The courage hard work and sacrifice they endured that we may live now is beyond any calculation. One can well be proud to come from such a line, and to feel the deep responsibility of making their effort not be for nothing.
You need some life experience to know what you're talking about. You have none. Other people in this thread have less.
nice one, i haven't heard that one before. But really what are you talking about, experience in what? Are you assuming I haven't met any black people or something?
Its not about meeting black people or any group of people. Its about living in those peoples shoes..understanding how they see the world, understanding how they see you etc. Until you, or anybody for that matter does that then you have no clue what you're talking about.
You know what, I'm not going to go any further with this; I'm just going to say right now that this isn't an argument for anything. I don't have to experience all their crap myself for me to judge their actions, what kind of reasoning is that? It has no logical connections at all.
Never mind life experience, it would appear you haven't even graduated high school yet. Thank you for proving my point.
I'm at the gymnasium, don't know what the american equivalent is. And seriously lay it off, I freaking hate it when people do this. "öööhhh you have to get experience, you don't understaaand, get back when you're older". aren't you ashamed that you can't bring up some real arguments but have to rely on that, a pathetic 'argument' used only by political illiterates.
Nope, its fact that in order for you to understand how a person/people thinks, you must see the world how they do. You don't, so you're opinion is ignorant. You'll look back and understand what I'm saying is true. I did.
The thing is that I can't, nor can you. does that mean we cannot comment? Where's the logical connection that I need to understand how they see things to comment on what they do? What's you argument even, other than 'you don't know anything, go learn something'?
haha. seriously though, I had this friend a while back that said he didn't like black and muslim immigrants. So I said "those few skinny blacks and muslims in school, don't you like them either?" he said that they weren't a problem. Then I went on and explained that it isn't that they're black or muslim that he's annoyed by, it's that they have this macho annoying mentality and style. Then I said, and he agreed, that white people doing that are also annoying and slightly threathening. my point being that it isn't inherently tied to any race, it's just that blacks tend to be this way more often. Hope you get my point.
It sounded rather funny though. But yeah, do avoid blacks that dress like gangsters, any sane guy would. But would you avoid a skinny black with a white doctor's robe and glasses? nope, don't think so. It's about gangsters, not blacks.
