    Federal prosecutors open investigation into Rep.-elect George Santos over congressional campaign

    Rep.-elect George Santos, R-N.Y., is under investigation by federal prosecutors from the Eastern District of New York, a law enforcement source confirmed to NBC News on Thursday. News of the federal probe, which the source said includes an examination of Santos’ finances, comes on the heels of the Nassau County district attorney announcing a similar investigation after Santos publicly admitted to fabricating key parts of his biography during the 2022 campaign.

    He is a shameless LIAR........for one thing. He seems t o have fabricated his family, educational history and wove it into something he might want to be in reality.

    Whatever happened to ethical standards ?? Is this the type of personality /character folks want in leadership positions??

    At least Mr. Donald Trump has been very specific about his family. We know for certain where his father came from. In Mr. Trump's own words:

    . “My father is German, was German, born in a very wonderful place in Germany so I have a very great feeling for Germany.”

    Santos claimed his mother died in NYC on 9-11-2001. Later he said she died in 2016.
    He said his fathers family name was Zabrovsky and that his family who were Jews had escaped the Holocaust in Ukraine.
    There is no trace of the name Zabrovsky related to the Santos name.
    Santos blamed the immigration people for changing the name Zabrovsky to Santos.
    Sure my name was Elvis but immigration changed it to PARTIZAN.
    He claimed his mother escaped socialism in Belgium where she was born. Facts show that she is Brazilian born in Brazil.
    He did not graduate from college except in his mind.
    There almost too many other lies to list.

    The Republicans find themselves, thanks to the path first taken by Mr. Newton Gingrich and the 'Southern Strategy' of Mr. Richard Nixon, hoist by their own petard. [Ed.: Do 'petard' and 'petomane' (c.f.) have the same root?]

    The 'conservatives', stressing 'family values', found themselves in bed with Mr. Donald Trump. So did the evangelical Christians. In both instances, the lure of immediate gain over-ruled long-standing traditional morality, ethics, and ideology.

    They are most certainly not willing to accept their transgressions. Witness the Trump hat in the ring, the election of Representative George Santos, and the silence of the Republicans about the characters of both.

    Curious if there's any investigations on where Santos was born ?

    He and his wife didn't live together, she was seen rarely and when she was she was introduced to his friends and boyfriend as a friend of his.

    So far she's been mum, she's from Brazil and one of the friends said that Santos told him he could make a lot of money marrying an immigrant so they could stay in the country.
    He may have been the US citizen and was paid to marry her.
    Also his father is alive and living in Queens and so far he's been mum.
