Well both of these are and were divisive figures, who did alot to destroy the fragile union that holds all Americans together. But I had to vote Truman, simply because you did not Have FDR option. In my opinion FDR was by far the worst president in history, not only did he push through socialist policy that still hurt our nation, but he also tried to undermine the Supreme courts authority, he undermined the 2 term precedent put in place by our greatest President Washington. If he had not died, one can only imagine the harm he would have brought to our republic.
JFK was the last real President. But the worst one was Reagan, who begin the move to sell out the middle class, to hollow it out, by allowing the Globalists to begin to dictate policy, which Bush and Clinton agreed to go along with, with Bush Jr. and Obama following their leads. We have not had a president that represented the American people since JFK. Robert Steele, an ex CIA guy, said that when Carter was given his talk by the men who control this nation, that either he followed the orders or he would end up like JFK, Carter cried like a baby. How Steele knows this I do not know, but he did work for the Reagan Admin, but after finding out what was going on, he resigned. Now you democrats know why the Obama that took office was not the same man who had all of these ideas about how he was gonna work to clean up gov't. He did an about face on many of the things he said he would do. And you will see the next president do the same thing, if he doesn't know the truth of how this works. So, the poll here that wants to know the worst president is a misplaced poll, and you would do better discussing what color under wear these men wore, post JFK.
Starting an unnecessary war by "mistake" that has wasted thousands of lives, a trillion plus dollars, and good will; squandering a surplus budget and needlessly running up trillions more debt in a decent economy; and leaving he worst recession in 80 years. And those are just the highlights. There's only one president on that list that matches that record.
On your list I'd have to go with Reagan. His policies started a lot of the stuff that came home to roost in 2008. Of all time I'd say Buchanan, who basically led us into the civil war through stubbornness.
John Tyler (1790-1862) Served in the confederate house of representatives. This former president actually served a foreign power at war with the United States. The very definition of a traitor.
Lincoln was by far the worst, a murderous killer for hire for the railroads and financiers, modern laissez faire assassin personified; America's Pol Pot. 2nd worst was JFK, though Jefferson in his 2nd term comes close, but his first term was among the best run, so JFK wins 2nd place on that list.
Obama is the worst! He has contributed nothing positive for our country. Any economic recovery has taken twice as long as it should have. Obama has greatly damaged our standing and respect in the world. Obama has made us less safe, and has sucked up to the Muslim Brotherhood and their friends. The military generally detests Obama as CIC. Obama wins as the worst hands down. No contest!
These polls are all so predictable. Conservatives just pick the most recent liberal president, and liberals just pick the most recent conservative.
I was wondering president of which country until I saw that bastard Nixon's name on this list, As a bengali I feel enraged at this decision to ignore the blood telegram and send a battle group inside the bay of bengal, To be bad the Americans chickened out because the soviets would not take this lightly and would have ruined America, if any attack took place
FDR? Yep the guy elected 4 times, lol Precedent? lol SS keeps 50% of seniors out of poverty. PROGRESSIVE policies CREATED the worlds largest middle class. Conservative/Libertarian would make US into a 3rd world nation the PROGRESSIVE policies pulled US out of!!!
We need to leave the incumbent as a possibility because any speculation where he will end up before he has completed his second term is meaningless. He won't have squandered a hard-won budget surplus, of course, but if he should contrive two trillion dollar+ nation-building fiascos in his time remaining, and his fiscal policies should result in the improving economy reversing direction and, by December, 2016, plummeting again to the dismal depths he had inherited, he'll definitely be a contender. We'll just have to wait and see.
1. yes he was elected 4 times, that is why term limits exist today in form of law. Since arrogant pieces of (*)(*)(*)(*) like FDR took advantage of the situation, where greater men stepped aside, he wanted more. 2.SS steals peoples freedom to invest as they see fit, and forces us to finance goverment hand outs. What you get back in SS is already watered down by inflation. 3.WW2 and the rebuilding created the worlds largest middle class, and the spoils of war kept us this way for a while. So if you want to thank someone for your life style thank the Industrial military complex.
1) Weird American's elected in not once, twice or even three times, but FOUR. BY HUGE MARGINS to fix the GOP's mess! 2) Look to HISTORY to see what happens without the social safety net of SS 3) WW2? Heck the economy boomed in the 1880's and 1920's too? Why didn't THAT create the boom? lol PROGRESSIVE POLICIES like rights of unions, min wage, labor laws, 40 hour work weeks, ETC created The worlds largest middle class IF left up to the conservatives/Libertarians the US would look like any other 3rd world sh*t hole they are trying to take US too.. Of course we see what 30+ years of "Reaganomics" (trickle down) has done to US
Your lack of understanding of what I am saying, coupled with your lack of information makes this discussion not worthwhile.
Agreed Bubba, your philosophy has proved a failure EVERY-TIME it's been turned into policy, except for the 1%ers of course!
Just sayin none of those guys served a foreign power that was at war with our country. As for Obama he in not a good president but how can anyone compare him to some of our worst?
