“Too many of our young people just can’t be bothered. They’re sitting on couches for hours playing video games, watching TV, instead of dreaming of being a teacher or a lawyer or a business leader, they’re fantasizing about being a baller or a rapper.”

Well, according to Bill Maher who quoted it, it was a “racist” Paul Ryan. It was followed by “hushed silence” that caught him by surprise.

    Why?

Well, it was a remark by Michelle Obama!

    Here's the video

I don't see anything racist in the remark. Pssst, one cannot be a racist about their own race unless they are claiming their race is superior based on race.

Perhaps you didn't understand the OP.

Bill Maher accused Paul Ryan of being a racist for making the remark! And, Paul Ryan NEVER MADE IT!

Another leftist attempt to smear any non-believer who actually got caught with his pants down. :wall:

I do not care what Maher said about anything, unlike some here I do not get my thoughts and opinions from a talking head, be they left or right leaning.

Well, there are apparently a whole lot of leftists, liberals, and progressives who hang onto his every word. :salute:

    Paul Ryan says it: "Racist!"
    Michelle O. says it: Inspirational.

Pretty hard to do, anyone that is white or black that says they hate their own race has more issues than their racial self hate. Thing is not only black kids are sitting around and not applying themselves, I know plenty of white kids with the same issues, seems to be common among teens, no matter what color they are or if they are rural or inner city kids, as if any of that is new news.

When it comes to underachievement, there seems to be a cultural aspect to it that is worse among American blacks, who do segregate themselves from "white" America, which is only helping to create a scapegoating victim mentality.

It's not racist to point out the damage being caused to American blacks by their (sub-)culture. It's not an indictment against black (African-descended) people, after all. I would say that they are the product of their environment, i.e. that culture I mentioned.

You people continue to ignore the thrust of the post. It's not who made the remark but how it was mis-reported. :steamed:

The reaction from the left is what's racist. It doesn't matter who days something. You're not allowed to claim its racist coming out of one person but OK from another. THATs racist and hypocritical and the left does it every day. There will ways be racial tension until the left stops using it as a tool.

This is but one example. Besides what some some consider racism is absurd. Facts aren't racist for example.
