The Associated Press carried this almost buried in its feed today, as a harbinger of what businesses are facing from the organized efforts of the same charmers now past their 51st day of occupying Portland.

Do employers have any rights remaining to them?

BOSTON (AP) — Whole Foods Market discriminated against its employees when it barred them from wearing Black Lives Matter face coverings while on the job, according to a federal lawsuit filed Monday in Boston.

The supermarket chain disciplined, intimidated and retaliated against the workers who were showing solidarity with the racial justice movement that had a resurgence of support following the May death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, according to the lawsuit.

Store managers cited the company dress code, which prohibits slogans or logos not affiliated with the company, as the reason for prohibiting Black Lives Matter messages.

Whole Foods in a statement said employees “must comply with our longstanding company dress code, which prohibits any visible slogans, messages, logos or advertising that are not company-related, on any article of clothing.”

But the plaintiffs say the company has allowed other messages on workers’ attire, including rainbow pins and flags, and sports team names and logos.

“The actions of Whole Foods against its employees are not only illegal but shameful,” Shannon Liss-Riordan, lead attorney for the plaintiffs, said in a statement.

Whole Foods “selectively and arbitrarily” enforced the dress code to specifically suppress the Black Lives Matter message, she said.

    Interesting.

WF has a problem if they didn't enforce this standard earlier, which I'm sure they didn't.

The price of food will be going up amidst the lawsuits...

Whole Paycheck as we call it hereabouts is as pricey as Trader Joe's and other lefty virtue-signal outfits. Let them stand tall until the expected groundswell of identical letters start showing up demanding instant groveling. And the YouTube droolers whining how this once-proud bastion of racial equity has so totally betrayed BLM and its righteous struggle to take over Portland. (Or something like that.)

Each company will decide whether to cave in (until the next demand) or stand tall and be forced into corners by irate idiots mouthing someone else's slogans. The list grows of people we know to avoid.

Bezos is utter scum, but this madness...

    ...is madness.

The problem of course is that WF didn't make a stink over sports pins & other minor expressions of affiliation because they're not deeply divisive as BLM is, but the basis for the demand not to wear BLM stuff - couched in a 0 tolerance for anything but plain clothing claim - is now bogus, so they're screwed.

And this is just the beginning of the beginning...

    Trader Joe's surrenders!

    ==

    From the petition:

We demand that Trader Joe’s remove racist branding and packaging from its stores. The grocery chain labels some of its ethnic foods with modifications of “Joe” that belies a narrative of exoticism that perpetuates harmful stereotypes. For example, “Trader Ming’s” is used to brand the chain’s Chinese food, “Arabian Joe” brands Middle Eastern foods, “Trader José” brands Mexican foods, “Trader Giotto’s” is for Italian food, and “Trader Joe San” brands their Japanese cuisine. Furthermore, the Trader Joe’s company takes pride in the fact that the founder, Joe Coulombe, took inspiration in building the Trader Joe’s brand from a racist book and a controversial theme park attraction, both of which have received criticism for romanticizing Western Imperialism and fetishizing non-Western peoples…
