    https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/20...-trump-s-big-polling-deficit-two-key-n1234605

CRITICAL REMINDER: The only day that a poll matters is election day. Make sure you register, make sure at least three of your friends are registered, and make sure that all four of you vote.

Here is the shift in graphical form:

    upload_2020-7-23_13-25-5.png

The shift in 65+ year olds is especially critical because they are the demographic which has, historically, been one of the most likely to vote and they are, simultaneously one of the groups most likely to die from Covid-19. And while the slight improvement in Trump's performance amongst African Americans and Hispanics is interesting, I expect that those numbers will likely shift back a bit assuming that Biden selects a non-white female VP.

Many people are saying that the 20 point swing in the 65+ age demographic is pretty much the only reason that Donald Trump is now wearing a mask (sometimes) and telling the public that it is a sign of patriotism to wear a mask.

Interesting. If someone has no interest in voting and doesn't bother to learn the issues they are voting on, why do we want to "make sure" they vote?

In addition to all 4 of you voting, make sure you all bring several changes of clothes, so each can vote multiple times.

1 Key group voting for Biden - Humans

Seriously, ANYBODY getting their advice on ANYTHING from Donald J. Trump should immediately be subjected to his dementia test...

Goes to show entirely effing up something with real and immediate consequences isn't good for reelection lol

Trumps plug ears strategy his entirely solid me hes unfit for office and their need to bend over backwards to help corporations (see corporation liability protection in the debates next stimulus) shows me they're not for a working class guy. So although I disagree with a big chunk of democrats cultural views my wallet is more important to me and I think Republicans aren't negotiating on my behalf

(CNN)Hillary Clinton has a 12-point lead over Donald Trump and has reached 50% support nationally among likely voters, a new ABC News tracking poll shows.

    Dated October 23, 2016.

It is not your job, nor your right, to determine who "has no interest in voting and doesn't bother to learn the issues they are voting on."

Quick: How many days, in total, did Hillary Clinton's average polling at RCP hit 50% or higher? For bonus points, what was the latest day in 2016 that she polled above 50%?

Exactly. Thats why I leave people alone and let them decide for themselves. You propose convincing people to do something they have no interest in doing. Why?

Which is a great illustration of why any kind of polling data right now is completely pointless.

If they have no interest in doing it, then my encouragement won't make a difference.

But even if they have negative interest in voting, they should still vote because it is a net benefit to society.

That "completely useless" polling data motivated Trump to start wearing a mask and to tweet out that wearing a mask is patriotic.

"I carry the mask," Trump said. "I will use it gladly. If I'm in an elevator with people I put on a mask. I have no problem with the masks. I view it this way: If there's anything that can potentially help, that is certainly a good thing."

"When you are not able to socially distance, wear a mask," he said during the opening statement of the briefing. "Whether you like the mask or not, they make an impact." - TRUMP

Sounds like common sense to me.

Common sense that he had been saying pretty much the exact opposite of up until two weeks ago. Are Trump supporters' memories so short that they don't remember him proudly proclaiming that he wouldn't wear a mask around the start of June?

Good point. I should have been more careful and specified "Trump supporters." I'll edit the post. :)

Do you remember when he made fun of Biden for wearing a mask?

How about when he scolded a reporter as being "politically correct" when he decided to keep the mask on during his question?

Do you also remember when Trump said that he believed some people were wearing a mask to express their disapproval for him?

If you don't, each of those lines that are bolded and underlined is a nice convenient link for you to refresh your memory.

There’s a big difference between conservatives (like me) and trump supporters.

The real issue is where the independents are leaning, and right now it is not looking good for Trump. Trump no longer gets the benefit of the doubt now that he is an incumbent, and his opponent is far less unliked, while Biden maybe a cookie cutter type candidate, he is not loathed by the Independents.

I think that's a very good point as well.....problem for trump is all these side issues (statues, chaz, portland, kneeling) dont really changes those independents mind imo with Corona left looming over everyone, atleast I dont think so

How do votes from those who don't understand what they are voting on benefit society?

At this point, a "cooker cutter type candidate" sounds pretty freaking good, doesn't it??

Versus rolling out some cookie dough, then hitting it with a napalm flamethrower...
