Do you believe everyone is born some sort of talent? I do not agree, some people have it and others don't. That is what makes talent talent.
Be be a true artist, one must have both talent and imagination. Talent is a gift one is born with. Most people are born with no gifts or abilities of any real significance.
I agree, but I think everyone is born with some sort of "orientation" (which is not to be confused for talent). I myself, for example, am certainly more "theoretically orientated" than "practically". With this being said, one might be born with an "artistic orientation" that might help them paint, draw, sculpt etc.
I was about the best art student in my little 2 A school as a kid. However, I only have some imagination, and no real talent to create any good artwork---and certainly no original artwork that would pay. I enjoy looking at art, too much of a bother to paint.
Orientation (gift! talent!) that maybe not each person has tapped into yet... some never do or even care for that matter. I took a drawing class and learned some basics of drawing/shading ect... yet I can barely draw stick people and my "sun/clouds" still looks like a third grader did it. lol
