How does one surrender in a war that was "won" when Bush did his "mission accomplished" speech? The war was a waste to begin with anyway, prolonging it decided how big a waste it was going to be. Do you know that a single woman living anywhere in the wild west had two options alone, get married or become a whore. Why? You reminded me of a guy I knew many years ago who was a refugee from South Africa's fascist apartheid regime. He spent years struggling to get asylum in the USA and was rebuffed by the government. Despite that, the people treated him very well. In speaking about the kindness shown by the American people, his eyes welled and he said he would never forget these kindnesses. He filed a legal petition and, after 7 years, the government finally granted him the legal asylum. By the way, it was I who wrote out the papers and, no, I did not charge him one cent even though he offered to pay me for it.
