White nationalism/supremacism were reasons why slaves were in Britain in the first place. Progressives of that era ended slavery, not nationalists/supremacists.

 

I'm unaware, other than a handful, of slaves being in Britain. Racist whites curbed/ended black on black slavery due to their belief in the white man's burden which held blacks incapable of ending slavery and uplifting themselves. Racist presidents Abraham Lincoln ended slavery in the US and Thomas Jefferson abolished the US slave trade.
