Because when El Paso shipped Venezuelans to NYC Mayor Adams was glad because they have no Venezuelan community. Now they do and so does MV. You’re welcome.

Expect more to come your way because they gotta go somewhere and you guys invited them.

Aren't any Cubans once they set foot on U.S. territory automatically granted legal status?

    Death Sentence knows his base

In August, migrants from Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua made up over one-third of all border apprehensions. Their arrival is part of a broader, unprecedented increase in migration from outside Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, whose citizens accounted for the vast majority of migrants processed by U.S. border officials before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nearly 7 million Venezuelans have fled their homeland as part of the largest displacement crisis in the Western Hemisphere
, according to the United Nations. While many settled in other South American nations like Colombia, Venezuelans hoping to reach the U.S. have been crossing the Darien Gap, Panama's roadless jungle, in record numbers over the past month, Panamanian government data show.

CBP officials along the U.S.-Mexico border also processed more than 19,000 Cubans and nearly 12,000 Nicaraguans in August.

As it should’ve been. No one should be granted anything just showing up at the border or washing up on shore. You either have extensive documentation and the resources and education to be financially stable or you’re a kidnapped citizen who escaped their captors.

Worth noting that people from Cuba didn't have that capability, because their government would not allow them to.

That was then. It’s a bit better now. But that’s part of the problem. Our stance should be zero obligation to help anyone. If you want to come it’s YOUR obligation to prove you can help us. Your breathing body is useless. We have 10s of millions of mostly useless people leaching off the system already…citizens and illegal.

I can see Trump supporters are sympathetic to people trying to escape from the Venezuela's socialist paradise.

Simple: Because he needs the Cuban-American vote from Miami. Many of those Cuban immigrants are quite conservative, and Dade County keeps its march away from being totally left leaning. The GOP has always been much more partial to the Cuban immigrant population, because they saw Cuban immigrants as a tool to fight socialism in Cuba. Now, why would DeSantis alienate this part of the electorate? Of course, there is a chance that his stunt will backfire on him with the Miami Latino population, too, time will tell.
