Errr...no, the core value of libertarianism is liberty. Pro-"life" can't exist within such ideals because it naturally demands a bigger government that is empowered to become more oppressive. History has never seen a reduction in access to abortion which follows an increase in liberty within society.

Sorry, the ends don't justify the means.

It all depends on when you feel that an unborn baby is protected by NAP. Some people feel that NAP applies at conception, others feel that NAP doesn't apply till the baby is actually born. Most people fall somewhere in the middle.

Unless you advocate that unborn babies can be killed up to the very second of birth (late term abortions) than its just silly to argue that it is somehow "big government" by protecting them from abortion. That would be like arguing that it was "big government" for people NOT to kill other people for their land. Its just a silly, stupid and immensely asinine argument to make.

Do you believe that elective late-term abortions in the last week should also be legal?

Why are you obsessing over a scenario that would NEVER happen?

Anders has actually stated he wants a ultrasound "check-points" in this country to make sure women who are pregnant STAY pregnant....

can ANYBODY except a dishonest rightwinger take seriously the idea that he's "libertarian"!?!?!!?

Because at the other end of the spectrum....fertilization,conception, week ONE....are too difficult for them to argue.

If this scenario would never happen, why are you so against restrictions on late-term abortions?

They are unnecessary and they can hurt all pregnant women. Angela Carder is a case in point. She was denied cancer treatment and forced against her will to undergo a C-section by the hospital "on behalf of the 26 week fetus." Neither she nor the fetus survived. Can you see this was her decision to make, not the state's? This is the kind of thing that happens when the unborn are given "rights."

Abortions which are done to save the mother's life or health is only a very small percentage of abortions which happens.

Do you support abortions to save the life or health of the woman?

Angela Carder wasn't seeking an abortion. She just didn't want a C-section, most likely because a 26 week fetus wouldn't have a good chance of survival, but the hospital and a judge determined "on behalf of the fetus" to go against her wishes, and the outcome was tragic. If Carder had been allowed to make her own decisions, she might have lived long enough to give the fetus a better chance of survival.

And who would get to judge that "sometimes" in your perfect world, Sam? Her doctor?
