seems every GOP presidential hopeful is running against trump

and obviously, desantos is trumps heir apparent

most are tiptoeing around trump hoping to get his voters when he is found ineligible to run and forced to withdraw from the race..at this point Chris Christie is the only opponent actually going after trump..and he is just doing the dirty work for desantos.. christy gets a kiss from desantos everytime he takes a shot at trump...my guess is christy is hoping for the VP slot when desantos wins the nomination

my thought is the GOP candidates are wasting time running against trump..

to quote Bill Barr..."trump is toast"

with trump gone, desantos becomes the front runner ..

why waste time and energy on trump??

seems desantos is who the opponents should be attacking...

    what say you??

Because Trump is the front runner and likely to win the primary. Everyone else is farming for national election experience, name recognition, etc.in the hope of being appointed to a high visibility post as a perch to run in 2028.
The general is all about who replaces Biden before the primary. There is no "After". "Hide the candidate" won't work this time. Joe has to face the public on the public's terms, and IMO he can't cut it. They already plan to Article 25 Harris, if Biden actually survives.

Christie is out for revenge and is open about it. He does not want to win as much as see Trump lose - spectacularly

this is where I don’t agree..

trump may be the front runner today ..but so what?? The election is not tomorrow..

my point is trump has little or no chance to survive the indictment brought by the DOJ. Once found guilty he will be forced to be out of the race..his punishment will be to drop out of the race or go to jail ..I am sure millions of the Qaloons and trumpers will write in his name on the ballot in 24... And if Georgia were truly a blue state he would have been indicted the day after he made the phone call to the elections chief of Georgia

Then once trump drops out of the race he endorses desantos because he will promise to pardon trump

and every candidate knows one thing for sure

to win the GOP nomination. A candidate must get the Qaloon and trump voters to win

Ronda Fascist hasn't got a prayer. The "heir apparent" isn't apparent yet.

At this point it's anyone's guess.

My personal opinion is that tRump will be the nominee even if found guilty.

Here I agree. Donald Trump will try to pick his own 'heir apparent' and it is unlikely to be anyone who runs for this office, one millisecond before he drops out. All his opponents in the 2024 primary are already disqualified as disloyal. He will give his heir apparent permission to file! Trump will start a serious negociation with someone like Haley or DeSantis etc during the convention when his other plans fail, and that will depend on whether the candidate is crawling on his knees, kissing his backside and commits to pardon his list of names, and agrees not to run for two terms if elected. I think 'blood is thicker than water and Donald will want to groom one of his sons for that heir to the throne roll for 2028. If George Herbert Walker Bush can do it, why can he?

That's actually the best nickname for DeSantis I've seen.

You should go work for Trump. The ones he's been workshopping around are terrible!

tRump can't afford me. I'd have to compromise my principals and while I can be bought I ain't cheap.

Democrats should be giving money to the Trump primary campaign. If he gets the nomination, he will lose to any Democrat, including Biden.

If the Democrats throw him in jail, it's less certain. He still might get the nomination from his jail cell. If he doesn't, his fans will either write him in and take votes from the Republican, or stay home. The Republican might still win under those circumstances.

One thing is for certain. As long as Trump is in presidential policies, the Democrats are set. They will win the presidency and probably every other race when there is a Trump endorsed candidate.

Trump is the kiss of death. He only destroys, and he doubles down on it with his campaign style. All he can do is criticize and belittle his opponents. He seldom presents anything positive as to why you should vote for him.

Trump is like William Jennings Bryan was for the Democrats from 1896 to 1908. Bryan had a stranglehold on the Democrat presidential nomination, but he could not win in the general election. He did worse in every election cycle for 1896 to 1908. When Bryan lost 1908, he said he felt like a drunk who had been thrown out of a bar. The difference between Trump and Bryan is that Bryan was said to be a very nice man.

Aside from Christie, most of the GOP candidates seem to want to go out of their way to praise Trump, and I predict that almost all of them will make pardoning Trump part of their main election agenda. They aren't so much "against Trump" as they are hoping beyond hope that he will drop out due to health or legal concerns. Then it will be a race between bootlickers.

I intend to vote for RFK. There's two things that will cause me to change my vote to Trump. 1- if RFK doesn't make it to the general election. 2- if our corrupt establishment tries to tell me Trump is 'ineligible' to be elected. Anyone wants to tell me who I can't vote for can go **** themselves and hard.

If you want a real threat to democracy, imagine if half the nation votes for someone the govt decrees we're not allowed to vote for anymore. You can toss the concept of 'consent of the governed' right out the window at that point.
