Why should not homo couples have the same marriage rights as heteros?

Actually most all of this recent frenzy of post Windsor federal cases demand a compelling purpose for excluding homosexual couples. Alleging laws that are clearly intended to exclude couples of the same sex, as you point out, are instead intended to exclude homosexual couples.

Because including them doesn't serve the governmental interest.

The government is there to serve our interests. It isn't the other way around.

Actually, as the courts have repeatedly stated and has been repeatedly pointed out, they demand that you name a governmental interest that is served by denying them the right to marriage. You have none, which is why you keep losing.

    - - - Updated - - -

Which is why you are 0 for 20. It's an invalid argument.

    - - - Updated - - -

Doesn't have to. A governmental interest must be served by the exclusion. That's why you keep losing.

Right? Whatever happened to, "government of the people, by the people, for the people"?

Nuts to that if it means that gays get married.

Yet another indicator that so called conservatives forsake their values to be against homos.

Horse(*)(*)(*)(*)! Even if you could not identify a way in which including gays in marriage is in anyone's interest, it is not a good reason to exclude them as far as the law is concerned. Have you learned nothing in all of this time? But, since you asked, it is indeed in the government's and society's interest to foster stable families as the bedrock of society, and that can provide a stable and nurturing environment for children. So cut the crap!

Did you not just say that the government has it's own interests?

    Yes or no?

If yes then we are telling you that the government has no interests, aside from protecting us as a country and collecting taxes. The government has no interest in keeping marriage as "one man one woman" and the majority in society have shown and proven that there is no reason to exclude same sex couples from marriage.

Only men and women becoming husbands and wives, fathers and mothers to their children, the nuclear family, is the "bedrock of society". Gay families is a recent invention. Just one of many possible alternatives to the nuclear family.

I can only hope that someday, you're in a position where you have to tell a 10 year old who loves her two moms that they are not a real family because same sex marriage and parenting is a new invention.

Id tell them, despite what their mothers have been teaching them, that gay marriage is not and has never been a bedrock of society.

That is cruel. You would make that child feel that their family is not worth as much as others. I maintain that you don't care about families or children. You only care about finding excuses and rationalizations for your bigotry. Shameful!

Of course, Never mind the fact that same sex couples have been raising kids forever. It's nothing new. Dixy just knows about it now, and it makes him scared! :)

I recall that you once claimed to be an Atheist. You had better hope that there really is no God and no hell.
