I highly recommend volks view the PBS film The Pilgrims. It is an incredible documentary. Per the back of the DVD case: One of the most interesting things which we tend to forget is that these 102 men, women, and children provided us the basis of our government as we know it: I believe this is worth remembering, and worth celebrating. What say ye?
Last night at the liberal side of the family...one of the 2nd cousins was asked at the dinner table what the meaning of Thanksgiving was. 10yrs old. He said and I quote, "a bunch of white people came over to a new land uninvited and killed all the natives by infecting them with disease. The end!!" It was snark but obviously influenced by his flaming leftist father or his white guilt bubble expensive private school he attends. Supremely smart kid, but that's not the point. What a grand future we have in store for us. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
whatever it once meant... I think today it's more of just a time to reflect on the things you have to be thankful for - - - Updated - - - sounds made up, but then again, I do not know your family and I know I have a couple far right loons in my family too so what do you think "Thanksgiving" means? .
Sometimes mouth of kids tell simply the truth ... if wanted to be heard by the fairy tale believers of the common story or not! But, as usual, all this again with this variegated and exhausting style and emphasis that it came from the liberal side = lesser worth as these "non-liberal dickheads" or why this pointing out?
It would be nice if people knew American history. According to the Executive Order George Washington wrote on October 3, 1789, the Pilgrims had zero to do with establishing the fourth Thursday in November as Thanksgiving Day. He did it because the Congress Critters wanted a national religious day to give thanks to God for basically making their revolution successful. The Pilgrims were never mentioned. http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/index.php?pid=65502&st=thanksgiving&st1= So they were essentially giving thanks to God for being successful revolutionaries, slave owners, and land stealers from the Indians.
Nope. Not made up at all. I have much better things to do than invent stories. Thanksgiving is for giving thanks for what you have and to spend time with family or friends. It's about coming together. Symbolic u see. Or it's about killing Indians😜 and white guilt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have this on my my DVR. Anyone else seen it ? http://indiancountrytodaymedianetwork .com/2015/11/16/saints-strangers-real-story-first-thanksgiving-162325
your just an anonymous poster to me, and you anti-left spin on the story fit your political propaganda... so I will take it with a gain of salt
It depends. I spent a Thanksgiving with a large group of Lakota Sioux. They celebrated it just like everybody else does except for a notable difference. They fed their kids first, the women next, and the man ate last as was their tradition.
That's fine. But I don't have will to waste the brain cells making up a fake story. Trolls might do that. I would have stopped posting here a long time ago. And it wasn't anti-left. It was just plain ol left. The situation is not unique which is why when I heard it, I laughed. It's the same crap regurgitated on MSNBC and aricles Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So making the EU settlers out to be the evil bad guys is seen as anti-left? Interesting view point. But I didn't make that up. Its how some people view our history now...the EVIL white people killing all the completely innocent natives without remorse as if the natives were peace loving souls who never lifted a violent finger=) Not saying the EU settlers were happy go lucky either. Some were certainly not. Are you implying new revisionist history of our country being founded on genocidal murders who purposely brought disease to wipe out the natives, was spread by Conservatives? /lol You, me and everyone else knows who's rewriting it all and if you want to call that anti-left, so be it. Its also a FACT!!
Ok, enough about Thanksgiving. Soon we'll hear from libs how Christmas is completely secular and has absolutely nothing to do with religion and it never has.
Yup. Made me think of the Charlie Brown Christmas special aired every year; per a National Review article: How dare these Christian wackos include the reading of text pertaining to the birth of Christ in a Christmas special!
Tell his lefty dad and all other bleeding hearts across America that if they feel sorry for the Indians they could always stop squatting on their land and give it back to them, but where would they go?..
