Pay attention and maybe you'll get there one day.

The rest of your post indicates you didn't understand anything I wrote. But, it makes little difference, since it's not the topic of this thread.

Sure I did. It just didn't make the compelling argument you thought it would.

So, how long until you demand the Dred Scott precedent be upheld?

The conservative court that takes it away.

Because whatever the court gives the court can take back. It is only logical.

Agreed 100%. I just wonder about the whole time thing. You can find out within 2 weeks of conception with an over the counter test if you are pregnant or not. I will have to look into the statistics before I say too much, but I highly doubt most abortions are from rape. I think most abortions are "i don't wanna use a rubber so lets just abort it if the pull out method fails". Again, I'll have to research before confirming any of this. Unless its some health issue or a rape, why do they have to wait so long to do the abortion? 12 weeks should be plenty. The longer you wait, the more cruel it is.

Decided based on an overly broad "right to privacy" legal fiction, Democrats are now demanding we disclose to the public, in the form of a COVID passport, our medical decisions. Brilliant.

Rape and incest - less than 1.5%.

Most reasons are variations of "the baby is inconvenient to me".

I agree that being an unenumerated right does add to the controversy.

It could never legitimately be considered infanticide because...

    1. Infants are already born so it does not apply.

    2. As a constitutional right abortion can't be illegal, yet infanticide is.

The courts did not legislate; they interpreted the constitution.

Agreed on what happens if the courts reverse the decision, it then becomes a 10th amendment issue.

I have a problem with this but it is not related to law so I will keep it to myself.

If it was struck down, I agree. The voters decide via state elections if they are happy with abortion laws.

This is my personal opinion but I dont believe this would be enough for ardent anti abortion folks...especially the religious. I suspect that they would be going after state rights to abortion eventually.

Legislation is fickle. Unenumerated rights should not be subject to the will Congress.

Maybe the most ludicrous, and most offensive comment about women I've seen on this board. For most women it's a horrible experience that leaves an emotional scar on them their whole lives.

Well, it's actually pretty close to true. As the link I just posted proves. Straight from women's own mouths.

Most abortions are done between 12 and 18 weeks...

I agree for some women but for most women an abortion is followed by a sigh of relief.

    YES!

Having a baby you don't want and can't afford is INCONVENIENT!

WTF would a woman have an abortion otherwise????

It is inconvenient to have your body damage permanently for 9 months.
It is inconvenient to suffer the pain of pregnancy and childbirth (which those males against abortion really do NOT give a damn about).
It is inconvenient to lose your job because you are pregnant.
It is inconvenient to take time off work for doctor appointments and childbirth.
It is inconvenient to have your career and education interrupted.
It is inconvenient to DIE in childbirth or because of a pregnancy.

OK, now here's where you cry, "Strawman" ...because you won't answer:

WHY do you make an exception for rape ?

Why did you read my post and assume that I make an exception for rape? While rape has a definite victim, there's no need for rape to have two victims. Adoption is a noble outcome for rape cases.

Here's a Big Shock for you : YOUR morals are not everyone's morals and YOU do not rule on what other's morals should be :)

Yeah, since you misread my post and then went on to prove you misread it, there was no need to take the rest of it seriously.

How about women's right to bodily autonomy?

...and if "moral principles"...then whose morals are we going by?

Bodily autonomy? Where is that right in the Constitution?

Thank ex-major leader Senator Harry Reid. Without his precedence setting first use of the nuclear option, it would have taken 60 votes for cloture, not a simple majority of 51. That is if you want to be honest. Kavanaugh and Barrett wouldn't have come close to confirmation with out good old Harry Reid.

You can't blame one side for using the same thing the other side first used against you. Well, I guess you can if you're an avid partisan who believes in what is fair and can be used for and by the goose is totally unfair and can't be used by the gander.

All I can say is, Thank You Ex-Majority Leader, Senator Harry Reid.

LOL, ALWAYS an excuse when faced with facts...

It was two separate issues ...but I can understand why you want to duck the first one ;)
