Only in your mind is income and spending linked. To most people those are two separate issues. First you aquire wealth then you make a separate decision on what to do with your money.

That isnt the situation we are in though.

You are using a metaphor that inaccurately describes the current situation to rally against it.

we are talking about the deficit and gdp, how the eff is that derailing.

cuts should always start slow and gradual so the impact will be less harsh.

And with that, Trump hits 3% average GDP growth for his first 6 full quarters!

That 102% better than Obama's dismal 1.48% over his last 6 quarters as he limped off the podium.

So do you support Trump's directive to the cabinet to find ways to cut their spending 5%? Will you support a budget that does so? What is it you think the Democrats will do to cut the deficit and get us back into a surplus like the Republicans had us or close too it?

The government plans to spend over $4.4 trillion dollars, while bringing in only $3.42 trillion dollars.

Why do I always have to repeat myself with you. 2nd time, cuts should always start slow and gradual, so 5% off the bat is too much, maybe .5% and then move up if it doesn't break the increase in GDP.

Income taxes have, corporate taxes are down about $100B as money was left with corporations who are expanding and investing and taking advantage if new depreciatons to buy new equipment.

.5%????? You guys complain about Republican spending, never Democrat it seems, but then don't want them to cut spending to any measurable degree and do not support his initative to get the budget under control.

Don't get hung up on projections, they are like polls, they always under report the GOP position and over report the Democrat position. Wait for the firm numbers.

Trump has reduced Debt to GDP by 1.42 percentage points over the first five full quarters of his presidency.

Obama INCREASED this measure by 5.64% over the final five full quarters of his presidency.

Never forget the Trump Maxim, it's all about Economic Growth!

So of course but what does have to do with it? My point was that instead of putting an artificial numeric goal let people find savings and as many savings as they can without restriction. In the case I mentioned we identified a lot more than if we were told 5%. We did not have a limit.

So no matter what he does including cutting spending to get the deficits down you don't support it. So I trust we will hear no more complaining about the deficit from you.

Good and one of the cabinet secretaries at the meeting said they were going to seek even more cuts that could be made. But in your case and there it comes from the top.

Again do you really think the Democrats would do better?

My god, you're slow! Unemployment has been going down for 10 years. There are not enough unemployed to fill the positions, private or public. This is the problem with cutting taxes when employment rate is high - tax revenue goes down and no new jobs are filled.
