Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.) announced Friday he would resign from Congress before his term is up, shrinking Republicans already razor-thin majority in the House.

Gallagher, a four-term lawmaker who is considered a rising star within the GOP, announced last month that he would not seek reelection. But Friday, he said he would leave the House on April 19.

This reduces the Republican majority to 1 vote. This makes MTGs threat against the Speaker even more dire. But Jefferies might release enough Democratic votes to save Johnson. Or Jefferies might become Speaker if one Republican crosses the aisle or if two more resign.

The republican house has been a circus and needs a good reboot.
