A normal presidential candidate would have immediately apologized for the tape, begged for forgiveness, and tried to patch things with his party. Donald Trump is showing signs of a complete paranoid meltdown. Judging from his tweets, Trump is planning on declaring war on the Republican Party at the debate. It is a given that the Republican nominee is going to use every baseless Bill Clinton conspiracy theory in an ugly attempt to save his campaign. What Republicans might not have been expecting was that Trump would use the debate platform to attack his own party. Trump is handling this self-caused crisis. He is melting down, and his psychological collapse could play out live in front of the largest debate audience in the history of the United States. Donald Trump does not seem well. I think the debate will set a new record for viewership. This will be the first time one candidate (Clinton) has had this much ammunition. And Trump has given her every single bullet. And they're 50 calibers.
I agree; it should be an interesting spectacle to watch on national tv. I'm sure the producers of the debate will have a standby show or commentary ready to go in the event that Trump has an extreme emotional breakdown during the debate.
Yeah. You do know you're all getting caught up in your own hyperbole, right? This is actually an opportunity. The 2nd debate was being cast as the poor cousin of the first, with limited viewership. Now, we know it's going to have viewing figures akin to the first. If he nails it, he's going to win the debates over all as we can probably score debate 3 for him from the off. The purchase price of the opportunity is the s**t he's had to deal with. But if he can ride that out - and let's face it, it's a media confection, Clinton has done much worse - and stay on message he'll be in the money. Big stuff to play for.
