…Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida famously took on the unions, the education establishment, and later the Biden administration by keeping schools open during the pandemic and signing laws banning the instruction of young children in gender identity and sexual concepts. He saw his margin of victory rise in Florida from an unconvincing 0.3 percent in the 2018 election to a stunning 19.4 percent in 2022.
Governor Kim Reynolds of Iowa has made education freedom a priority in Iowa by drawing up a bill that would create 10,000 scholarships for school choice and, when it failed, backing Republican primary candidates to help her challenge the school unions’ hegemony. Voters rewarded her with an astounding 18.6-percent margin of victory over her 2022 opponent, as compared with a scant 2.8-percent margin in 2018.

Governor Brian Kemp of Georgia earlier this year signed legislation doubling the cap on donations to the state’s scholarship program for school choice and installing a Parents’ Bill of Rights that requires schools to share with parents instructional materials used to teach their children. His margin of victory over union-backed challenger Stacey Abrams increased from an anemic 1.4 percent in 2018 to a decisive 8.5 percent in 2022…

…Beyond these gubernatorial races, candidates for statewide education offices won their races on platforms of freedom and parental rights. In South Carolina, Ellen Weaver won the race for Superintendent for Education with pledges to expand school choice and promote "total transparency" for parents regarding what their children are taught. In his victorious bid to become Oklahoma’s next Superintendent of Public Instruction, the state’s current Secretary of Education Ryan Walters won more votes than incumbent Governor-Elect Kevin Stitt (who also won his race and extended his margin of victory) on a platform of opposing politicized indoctrination in the classroom and promoting school choice. Conservatives won decisively in races for the state boards of education in Kansas, Nebraska, and Texas with promises to halt indoctrination in CRT and gender identity in the states’ schools.

The clear lesson is that conservatives running for election at the state level can win with a solid policy agenda pledging to advance parental rights and education freedom, and by backing up that agenda with solid victories over the unions and their progressive allies while in office…

This Fox News Opinion article is exactly right. The advance of parental rights in education was a huge result of the mid term elections. The success of candidates backed by parental rights in education groups is key to saving our innocent children from the ideology of the secular progressive left and their methods.

The courts struck down one of the anti woke laws that DeSantis installed.

none of these other "woke" boogy men is a problem either . only the hysteria generated by your propagandists and their school board crisis actors is a problem.

Because we've never seen drag queen story hour in schools or queer flags on the wall in kindergarten classes...

No teachers ever read books to small children like Jill has two mommies...

Next you will tell us that Twitter never practiced political censorship...

i know that twitter cancelled several non conservative persons as well. the female comedian griffin for 1.

a rainbow flag or poster in kindegarden might refer to the "reading rainbow" a pbs show hosted by non drag queen levar burton who played kunte kinte in the critical race theory epic "roots" before joining star fleet so yea, burn that flag!

i think this is just another day care hysteria.

    Day-care sex-abuse hysteria - Wikipedia

During the late 1970s and early 1980s, many more mothers were working outside of the home, resulting in the opening of large numbers of day-care facilities. Anxiety and guilt due to leaving young children with strangers may have created a climate of fear and readiness to believe false accusations.

here is a conservative hero back peddling on his great "education" policy. virginia standards now refer to pocohontas as a "first immigrant" and other stupid propaganda.

Youngkin responds to backlash over proposed Virginia school history standards - WTOP News

McAuliffe lost the election for Virginia Governor because he said parents should have no say in the schools. Youngkin won, but he bought into the media’s idea that parents wanted to: emotionally torture trans kids, ban books, and validate racism. What really bothered Virginia parents is the worry their kids would lose their shot at UVA, VT, W&M and other great state and private universities because they were in public schools that had Covid protocols, while private schools held in person classes. Two income couples were frustrated because they were trying to work at home with their kids around. The year off of school was NECESSARY, but cost the Democrats the election. However, Virginia is not Florida. Voters wanted their damn kids off their video games and back in classrooms. They did not want a governor who supports an abortion ban, defunding of public schools, money to Liberty U, and who runs around campaigning for losing MAGAs. We cannot let him reinvent himself.

I find it totally frightening that people in government are trying to stop "woke" speech because they disagree with it.

Oh you mean real educators outing themselves and their ideologies in short videos on a social media platform? Why yes. Yes I do.

It's nice that some of the videos have led to investigations and firings but it seems to be a systemic problem and like police, we need to clean a bit of house and hire only sane people.

Sure. He’s telling people that teachers are giving 6 year olds, blow job classes. Who wouldn’t be against that?

No he's not telling people that.

In your fevered mind he is, but that's not reality.

Protecting children from speech that you disagree with is natural. Those in the government are public servants and if it's what the public wants them to address then they are doing what they were hired to do.

All of them are a problem, and they are being confronted and beaten. Which is a good thing. The propaganda is the claim they aren’t issues, usually by supporters of these nonsensical, and racist things.

I am afraid this treads very closely to undercutting the first amendment.

It does indeed. But it's always been acknowledged that freedom of speech has it's limitations. The question is is who gets to decide what is acceptable speech protected by the 1st amendment. The primary purpose of the first amendment was directed at political speech as Justice Black laid out.

    https://constitutionallawreporter.com/amendment-01/political-speech/

I think anyone would agree that some things should not be taught to children and society at large, not a group of elitists, should have the right to make that call.
