This movie brought out the wrong type of a patron when he brought a concealed weapon into the theater , he was drunk, and became so enthralled with this movie that he fumbled with his gun and he claims it accidentally went off inside the theater (stupid!) and the bullet hit a woman who was seated in front of him. The lady is going to be O.K. He claims he dropped his gun on the floor and it then went off. This is proof that guns do hurt or kill people because this tragedy would not have happened without the presence of a gun. Thank goodness this dangerous man was arrested.

I do not approve of concealed weapons being taken into a movie theater or to any public place because a gun can go off whether intentional or accidental.

What is your opinion about this incident that happened in a movie theater located in Washington State?

This couldn't have happened. The movie theater was designated a gun free zone.

When are you liberals going to take your anti gun sentiment to the ghettos of Chicago and talk to them about why gangbangers with guns is not a good thing.

I'm sure your voting block will welcome you wth open arms and hand their guns right on over.

Oh wait, they don't fit your narrative so you could give a damn that they shoot everyone everywhere on a daily basis.

Personally, I try, and sometimes successfully, not to say anything about the countries and inhabitants that are starting to make up the Crapistan Caliphate as it is none of my business as how the descendants of serf's and vassal's choose to be ruled or live.

"The 29-year-old returned home after the shooting and called 911 around 9.40 p.m., claiming he had dropped his gun and it fired when it fell to the ground, according to the AP and local station KIRO7. The man reportedly said he had been drinking before the shooting, which was accidental."

Drinking and carrying is against the law. Guns don't just fire when they hit the ground, designed not to unless he was carrying some antique. Dumb-ass needs to have the book thrown at him and have it plastered all over. Dipsh!ts like him give all gun owners a bad name.

It was already against the law and he broke the law. What you would like for there to be done? Make it double illegal? Triple illegal? What law would have prevented this?

If you follow the four firearm safety rules, your gun will never accidentally discharge.

I agree that dip(*)(*)(*)(*)s like this A.hole give those of us gun owners who follow the rules a bad name..... I agree that about the only gun that would fire when dropped is some old revolver and then only if the hammer was cocked but he would really need to be a flaming A,hole to carry a cocked revolver --

Yet another "responsible" gun owner, who was responsible until he wasn't.

I do not have a problem with concealed weapons taken anywhere except a bar. I do have a problem with an individual mixing firearms with alcohol. So, yes, I have a problem with the action of this one individual. But for every story like his, I can provide you hundreds of stories of gangbangers, criminals and thugs that use guns to actually kill people. Until they are disarmed, I won't advocate anyone going anywhere without a weapon concealed or otherwise.

So we can just lump this thread and your comments into those threads that you folks started about the gun violence daily in Chicago.

    Oh wait !!

Responsibility of gun ownership is not a part time deal. You are responsible for your weapons when you are asleep or away from them. You are responsible to ensure that they are secure from unauthorized use. When a gun owner screws such as this a.hole did hat means he was never a responsible gun owner. You have no vacation from responsibility when you own a gun.

Your little ditty is cute but it is insulting to us responsible owners who remain responsible. When a automobile driver screws up and beaks a driving rule and hurts someone are they also by your definition a "responsible" car driver who was responsible until he wasn't ???

This is an example of a right guaranteed by the Constitution that carries with it a duty. We have the absolute right to own weapons but we also have an absolute responsibility to make sure no one is accidently hurt by our ownership.

Unlike Chicago, this shooting, while accidental, made the news. And even though this guy was an idiot, he still turned himself in.

as long as the shooter is punished, that will help send the message to future gun holders, that yes, they are allowed to carry a gun, but they are responsible for making sure the gun doesn't shoot anyone

shooting a gun in a theater would be like yelling fire... not protected by the constitution.. unless of course there was a fire or a valid reason to shoot

same would be true there, commit a crime with a gun, get caught, get punished

I do not think this is the memory the right wanted people to have when they thought of the13 hours movie

The guy was stupid and deserves whatever he gets. Alcohol and firearms don't mix, same as alcohol and cars don't mix. As for the firearm hitting the floor and going off, I seriously doubt that happened. Most firearms are more inherently safe than that. Blame the guy, not the gun.
