The snowball effect of treatment of women in the US is scary. Women are frequently stripped of their property and resources after marriage. We are essentially becoming property.
uhhh would you care to cite some laws or situations backing this up? depending on the state you are in, men are quite often stripped of their property and resources after marriage, despite owning them prior to the marriage and no vested growth together with the woman they married... and in the states that still seem to haggle over pre and post marital assets, it generally favors the woman when we look at hard divided cases... thats not an opinion, thats being around lawyers for decades and listening to the stories... judges really seem to dislike men on average, thats why lawyers push to settle things out of court between the lawyers before letting it get to a court of law... because when you lose out of court, its still better than how much you'll lose in court... and often you'll end up back in court just trying to get shared custody of your kids... so please, where is the grand screwing of women occurring these days? I'm still paying for a home I haven't lived in the past 10 years... talk about a royal screwing in court...
Have you never heard of the glass ceiling? How frequently are men the victims of rape or domestic violence? Shared custody is granted to any two parents fit and capable. Alimony is rare and things like homes are usually fairly handled. - - - Updated - - - Please don't beat me!
We are denied equality. We are raped and victims of domestic abuse. We are sexualized and marginalized.
How very strange...I suppose the fact that my Ex-Wife cheated on ME, made me believe his child was mine, Took my house and ruined my credit, Got custody of my children (2), then made me support her afterward is testimony to the accuracy of your fears. Maybe you should ask girls under Taliban rule what you should do?
` I'm an ardent supporter of Women's rights but I do not see that scenario as being factual for the majority of women. Quite the opposite.
- - - Updated - - - Heard of a glass ceiling, I just wonder how many of these cases are women believing that they are passed over because they are women...And not that the other person is better qualified. it's kind of like the old "wonder who she slept with..." And I have heard that more from female workers than men. Here is a short list of women CEO's of fortune 500 companies. Mary T. Barra, General Motors Co. (GM) Heather Bresch, Mylan Inc. Ursula M. Burns, Xerox Corp. Debra A. Cafaro, Ventas Inc. Susan M. Cameron, Reynolds American Inc. Safra A. Catz, Oracle Corp. (co-CEO) Lynn J. Good, Duke Energy Corp. Marillyn A. Hewson, Lockheed Martin Corp. Ellen Kullman, EI DuPont De Nemours & Co. (DuPont) Lauralee E. Martin, HCP Inc. Gracia C. Martore, Gannett Co. Inc. Marissa Mayer, Yahoo Inc. Sheri S. McCoy, Avon Products Inc. Carol Meyrowitz, TJX Companies, Inc. Beth E. Mooney, KeyCorp Denise M. Morrison, Campbell Soup Co. Indra K. Nooyi, PepsiCo, Inc. Phebe N. Novakovic, General Dynamics Corp. Debra L. Reed, Sempra Energy Corp. Barbara Rentler, Ross Stores Inc. Virginia M. Rometty, International Business Machines (IBM) Corp. Irene B. Rosenfeld, Mondelez International Inc. Meg Whitman, Hewlett-Packard (HP) Corp I will agree that women are the predominant victims of rape and domestic violence. How much of this is influenced by what young people see in the media. Women being objectified and sexualized in movies and TV, young girls wanting to be like Myley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj. Gangster rap referring to women as bi***** and hoes. Parents who are too disengaged from their children and allowing them to dress any way that they want. Single parent households where there is no father to teach a young man that it is not right to hit women. As for the last, the courts still have the old fashioned views that the man should be the bread winner and thus must take care of the woman. I've been married for 27 years and we are happier when she can stay home, raise the kids and maintain the household. Call us old fashioned but it works for us.
Mind if I ask you why you don't share custody? So you have entirely paid the mortgage? No split of equity?
I share custody but live in a different state, I would also need to see HER in order to see them and it would seem they have no interest in me anymore...I imagine she has had something to do with this as well. The home was in both our names and according to the divorce she had a year to refinance and remove me from the deed. As I could not see my children homeless, I agreed to give her an extra year when she asked....she then allowed it to go into foreclosure which ruined my credit. None of this has anything to do with my commentary on your woe is me crap...other than to debunk it.
I was curious to what kind of reaction I would get. Women's rights or equality in the US kind of died as an issue around the time women became able to serve in any military capacity. To anyone in the US, my statements would have been absurd. - - - Updated - - - Haha. You are absolutely right!
No, the courts do not view men as the "breadwinner"who has to "take care of "the" woman"..ever hear of women who hold a job?????????????????????????? The courts usually put the children's welfare ahead of anyone else's feeeeeelings or who the "breadwinner" is.... That usually means the woman gets custody. ...not always....and most of them work besides taking care of the man's kids. Personal anecdotes mean nothing....who wouldn't mind going to work every day WHILE their kids are cared for, the shopping done, the house cleaned, the food cooked, the laundry cleaned, the plumber dealt with, the social amenities preserved, the mother's birthday card sent on time, the guests fed and entertained by magic, .....nice to be able to afford those conditions for EITHER SEX.
Of course your gender isn't an obstacle when you fit perfectly into the stereotype of an obedient mommy/ housewife......
I see...so it would seem your whining about the treatment of people in this country is meant to be only for people of your own gender and that of Men is of little if any import in comparison, as long as it does not in some way damage the woman. For some reason this attitude does not seem to benefit the validity of your persecution claims.
Lol. A man wouldn't mind! Women frequently chose family over career and men are overwhelmingly the primary breadwinners. Men and women are different creatures, driven by different things.
Reread the thread. I posted it to see what the reaction would be. I intentionally posted something outrageously wrong to see how many posters would call my bs.
You seem to think that may offend me. I nursed my 3 kids. Not one was ever sent to a daycare. It eas my absolute privilege to be a stay at home mom. I loved cooking for my husband, cleaning our home, coaching cheer, being room mom. I never missed a moment. I consider my role as mom and wife the most important work I will ever do.
INDIVIDUAL humans are driven by different things.......guess what?! Hang onto to your girdle!!! ALL women don't like pink or like to go shopping !!!!!
It wasn't meant to offend ....but you did miss the point altogether... I'll try again...when you do the stereotypical mom/housekeeper routine then , OF COURSE, your gender will never be an obstacle... So for you to think gender is never an obstacle for any other person is ridiculous...
