Women only please reply-if a cure for menopause is discovered would you take it?

A cure?
I didn't really have a problem. Hot flashes for a while. No emotional problems.
It was a breeze - really. Glad to have over. No more monthly inconvenience.
It cured itself. In my next incarnation I will have a tubal ligation as soon as someone will do it. I do not like the idea of using chemical birth control.

 

OhZone, it's not expected by me for a menopause cure to be found soon. But to repeat, the idea of curing menopause and old age is to end aging. When people get old, they become closer to death and crone. Many lose teeth when they get older such as dentures-they also have dentures for dogs.

 

Why can't you understand the difference bewteen symptoms and the disease.

If the "disease" you want to cure is old age, then why are you dwelling on the symptoms? Why not say, "Gee, let's find a cure for old age".....You'll join thousands of people who, throughout human history, have searched for the "fountain of youth"...it is nothing new.
It's like wishing you'd win the lottery...fun but pretty useless.

 

If menopause didn't have so many undesirable side effects I would be happy to go into it. Our whole reproductive cycle blows, let them find a "cure" for the uterus, I have yet to have any need of mine.

 

There's another reason for curing menopause which got minor mention-it cures masculinization of women. When men get old (30 & above is old), they look older including as old decrepit men. Problem is that when women age, they also look like old men as voices get deeper and face masculinizes. Finding cure for menopause makes sure that a woman looks like a woman, not a man. So another reason to find cure for menopause.

 

If you don't like someone's looks don't look at them.

After a long life which may have include great success and have been very interesting and fulfilling intelligent women don't care what you think of their looks.
Elderly women do not look like men, they look old, it's not a crime, it's an accomplishment....and most aren't real concerned with getting their photo in Playboy.

They may find your hearing impairment, your loss of memory, and your loss of muscles repellent but I'm sure they'll forgive you for aging.

Your concentrating on menopause is a sign of a mysoginist.

 

It's not misogynist to say that old women look like old men because that's just truth. Also WhatNow, you also with old age have hearing loss, memory loss & muscles loss. Old women also get memory loss, hearing loss and muscle loss as old men do. Finding a cure for menopause indirectly finds cures for memory loss and so on as cures for old age is found. It's not an accomplishment to become a crone. No, it's not a crime to look old. But it's truth that old women look like old men and to deny this is dishonest. Finally WhatNow, if old women didn't care what people think of their looks, then they wouldn't look for ways to look the same way they did when they were 18 to 35 years old, so you're wrong. Products like Oil of Olay, Botox and so on which old women sometimes use wouldn't be in business if old women didn't care what others think of their looks.

To me as a woman, I think that men of 35 to 45 are the sexiest, handsomest and most masculine of any age. Under 30 they just look like little boys with their feminine smooth skin. .
And your part of about older women looking like men - boy are you out of touch with reality.

 

Born Nov. 25, 1969, so old and close to dead. I can post many pictures of old women looking like old men-too many to show. I think you're not being serious because it's a fact that after menopause a woman's looks masculine as voice deepens and some women even get face hairs. Finding cure for menopause and old age makes sure that a 75 yer old women looks how how she looked like when she 25.

For me, it's pro-women to find cure for aging and menopause. If a cure was found to make a 75 year old man look the same way he did when he was 25, most men would take this. Yes, it did occur to me that there are women who don't care about their looks or what I think. I support their right to not care about their looks or what I think. With smart women, President William Jefferson Clinton married a smart woman, lawyer Hillary Rodham Clinton who after his Presidency, she became Senator and Secretary of State. Yet after President William Jefferson Clinton and his wife got old, President William Jefferson Clinton had affairs with women who were 18 to 35 years old because he and his wife don't have sex anymore. If an old man has affair with young woman, then it's usually because he and his wife stopped having sex after menopause.

Men have affairs because men have affairs...women do, too! And they have them while they also have sex with their spouses and they have them when they're young.

And not everyone thinks sex is the only reason for living as you do. Your outlook on life seems very narrow.

There are many old folks who are happy and have sex...and many happy old folks who don't have sex...

Once a woman has become menopausal, there's no use in a man having sex with her anymore. It's like after a car has had 100,000 miles, most don't drive the car anymore & buy a new 1 or those who still do, usually don't drive as they used to. If a woman has suffered cancer & had mastectomy, then she has become totalled and no reason for a man to have sex with her anymore. It's like if my 2011 VW Jetta got totalled in a wreck, I would not drive the car anymore & would go look for a new car-or I'd take the bus. So for same reason, if a man's wife has suffered cancer which has required mutilation, then that's the end of ther sex life as the woman is now totalled. It's best for the couple to either become celibate or if the man wants sex, then the man should find young pretty women 18 to 35 years old to have sex with. Former Italian leader Silvio Berlusconi did the right thing when he paid young women to have sex with him after his wife became menopausal. Sex is mainly supposed to be about woman pleasuring man and viceversa incidental. Keeping wome fertile until they die keeps them sexually desirable which means as I've said finding cure for menopause and make woman who is 75 look like she did when she was 18 to 35 years old. Once woman becomes menopausal, it's recommended that man no longer have sex with her as she not pretty as she was when she was 18 to 35 years old. Finally, most marriages eventually become sexless as the sex becomes boring as they know what to expect, not new anymore and people getting ugly.

You are actually in your prime. If it would make you feel better about yourself you might lose weight, work out to build muscle and after that maybe get a face lift. Learn how to carry yourself, and develop some personal finesse and you will have a better self image.

 

My views are these: Yes, if there was a cure for menopause I would probably take it, depending on the risks & side effects, like any procedure. But not because I want to feel &/or look younger, I still look pretty good for my age, it doesn't worry me much. But menopause means dry, sore skin & hot flashes, which are damn annoying. I've even heard that it can diminish your sex drive, which would suck! Although so far, I have seen no evidence that that is happening Living longer & healthier, without worrying about increasing cancer risk & osteoporosis would be lovely!

While I disagree with your views on sterilization (most methods of birth control are not very reliable 2% - 20%) & gender re-assignment surgery; I think curing menopause symptoms would be a great boon to women, although I don't think most of us want to still be starting families at my age
But the other health benefits would be awesome.

 

Once a woman's menopausal, in my view to repeat, it's best for sex to end with it, which is why another reason for curing menopause. Curing menopause is the larger topic of curing aging. If a cure for aging is discovered, then a cure for menopause is found.

Also it's sex change mutilation-mutilating a man or woman to make them fake opposite sex members. Transexuals are also more likely to have other problems & transexuals more likely to be child molesters. Sterilization surgeries are mutilations. No birth control
isn't 100%, but I'm pro-choice on abortion when birth control fails.
