Well, if you're hunting buffalo or something I suppose. I wouldn't shoot a deer with that thing even if I could - I think it would cause too much damage to the meat... I've never killed an amimal with a gun.... Only bows.
I asked about hunting on another forum and was told that assault weapons are not really the right thing....the poor animals don't really stand a chance anyway.
Well, no one hunts with "assault weapons"... Where I'm at you can't bag an amimal with a gun period. Bow only. Obviously I could spray a deer with bullets but I want the meat so I wouldn't want to spend the time to dig bullets out of that meat - hence we hunt with bows... Also, bows aren't loud and will not scare the game away so.
That's certainly more even. Must be fun. There are hunts here in France, there's one a few km away. I nearly got t-boned by a boar once. Hunting with hounds, though, which is a bit different.
It's illegal to shoot game where I'm at... Bow hunting is really the smartest way to bag a deer IMO.. Well people do hunt birds with bird shot around here but it's bird shot so I really dont consider that anywhere close to an actual round - it's bird shot - bb gun shells.
Yes, all kinds of regulations, tough to get a gun even if you want one. The police are armed though. It's fun to see 2 or 3 gendarmes strolling through a quiet little town all tooled-up .... maybe they're scared of the American tourists.
In the United States we have plenty of guns - all kinds of guns...... Thank God for the Second Amendment.... They attempt to ban and regulate guns here but the people doing it are idiots that don't even understand what an assault weapon is because they've never shot a gun in their lives or know anything about guns. They can regulate all they like but I doubt anyone with guns honestly even cares, it's not like if tomorrow if they passed a law banning guns that people would turn them in.... What are they going to do confiscate guns with guns?
For sure, that's what you've chosen, and I believe in democracy so you're entitled. Someone said on another forum that they could take his gun off his dead body, and I believed him.
` While I was kidding about the handgun, a 50 cal rifle is something you own and take good care of in the hopes you never have to use it....for anything other than hunting squirrels.
I wouldn't suggest hunting squirrles with a 50 unless you like soup... lol No, actually I do have a problem with squirrles getting into my house, I don't want to kill them but they cause damage so I have to pick them off - I use a pellet gun for that tho...
Well that's the problem - the Second Amendment trumps all legislation, unless Congress amends the Constitution and that will never happen. Pigs will fly before people give up their guns.
I'm definitely not a "gun nut." I don't own a gun and have never owned a gun. My dad owned a gun when I was younger though. My concern is with our rights and it seems that the 2nd amendment is the one right that is always under attack by government officials. If you aren't concerned by that, you aren't thinking, as far as I'm concerned.
And you asked for that, because? Be specific. - - - Updated - - - Pistols are fine, but rapid-fire rifles and whatnot is meant for the military, not civilians.
I get the point of guns... but people who talk about them are being super geeky... except in a macho way... which makes it worse
` ` LOL. Seriously, if I need to shoot small game, (I live in a forested area) I my .22 varmint rifle. For anything more formidable, I use my 30.06.
