China reportedly sent 150,000 troops to North Korea's border — here's what they're probably up to.....


After a productive phone call between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Chinese state-run media reported that a force of 150,000 troops went to North Korea's border.

International observers fear that North Korea may conduct another nuclear test this weekend on the anniversary of the founding of the Kim regime, but the US has broadcast loud and clear that nuclear posturing in the Korean peninsula will no longer be tolerated, and the Chinese seem to be stepping up to help.

Tack predicted that China would "definitely react to and try to prevent" a US strike on North Korea, as the US increasingly touted military strikes as an option against the Kim regime, even going as far as positioning an aircraft carrier off Korea's coast.

"The overt presence of Chinese forces would dissuade the US from going into that territory because they would run the risk of inviting that larger conflict themselves," said Tack.

Chinese forces in North Korea would "be in a position to force a coup or force Kim's hand" to disarm, said Tack.

Ultimately, China, North Korea's biggest backer, would attempt "to make sure North Korea still exists and serves Chinese interests while it stops acting as a massive bullseye to the US," he added.

Besides its apparent troop buildup, China also seems willing to apply pressure to the Kim regime in other ways. Last week, Beijing ordered its customs authorities to reject coal imports from North Korea, a big hit to the regime's wallet since its coal is roughly 40% of its total exports......snip~

Rome was a different time. They had to breed like rabbits to in order to keep up with the demands of occupation. They failed. We learned from those failures and put in place strategic positions all over the globe with only modest manpower. The other thing that sets us apart is technology. Where it would take Romans weeks or even months to respond to geopolitical backlash or a military uprising, we can be mobilized in hours and have a significant presence within a few days.

About the only thing that might happen Saturday is NK conducts a nuclear test in honor of the current leader's grandfather's birth.

North Korean monitoring service 38 North said Wednesday the country's Punggye-ri nuclear site is "primed and ready" for a sixth nuclear test.

"The activity during the past six weeks is suggestive of the final preparations for a test," 38 North analyst Joseph Bermudez told CNN.

Bermudez and his colleague Jack Liu correctly predicted the last nuclear test, in September 2016. Since late February they have been warning of increased activity at the site, particularly new equipment arriving, activity at the command center, and excavation and water pumping from entrances to the underground testing site.

North Korea will mark the "Day of the Sun" on April 15, to mark the 105th anniversary of the birth of the country's founder Kim Il Sung. The date has typically been a key one for weapons tests and other displays of strength......snip~
