In a move that is both shocking and unsurprising at the same time, the video hosting powerhouse YouTube has terminated Brownells’ channel citing violations of their “community guidelines”. In the professional business of gunsmithing, tools, parts supply, accessories and more recently firearms sales, Brownells has been a pillar of the shooting community for nearly 100 years. While countless old-fashion catalog sales companies died off with the ecommerce revolution, Brownells adapted, embracing online sales and customers with an easy to navigate website and strong social media presence. It is unclear at this point what part of the community guidelines YouTube alleges that Brownells violated to get terminated or if there is a possibility of being reinstated. However, as channels with a heavy following continue to receive strikes, warnings and terminations, the fate of user and corporate generated firearms content on YouTube are becoming bleaker by the week. http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2018/06/09/brownells-youtube-terminated/
This just leaves an opening for someone to start a firearms friendly video hosting site - a free market opportunity.
Brownells was reinstated on youtube. https://www.desmoinesregister.com/s...mporarily-blocks-gun-video-channel/690347002/
The irony of pulling all gun related content from You Tube (if it happens) is a great deal of gun related content reinforces gun safety, informs people how to safely maintain their guns, and often exposes gun design safety issues. But, of course, gun safety, isn’t the objective any more than Dick’s recent policy changes.
Relax folks...youtube will only ban any content that promotes the sale of guns and gun accessories, or modifications to make them deadlier. It also banned videos about how to make firearms. There are still loads of gun related videos on youtube.
Meaning that it is not even possible for yourself to defend or even explain the position being established by yourself.
What position is it that you think I 'established' when I posted.... "Relax folks...youtube will only ban any content that promotes the sale of guns and gun accessories, or modifications to make them deadlier. It also banned videos about how to make firearms. There are still loads of gun related videos on youtube." Allow me to cut to the chase...ready? Stating what youtube is doing is NOT taking a position. The mental gymnastics going on in your brain to see what I posted....which is what youtube is doing....and then somehow, some way, come up with this theory that I am agreeing with youtube is beyond ridiculous. You are so tightly wound that you don't actually see what is posted but what you THINK is posted. Take a breath....relax....and read the ACTUAL words of peoples posts.
