I Put A Spell On You ~ Originally by Screamin' Jay Hawkins (great tune, and he sings it with such passion) This is one of my favorite CCR tunes, but there are a LOT of them (awesome). I cannot decide which one of these I like better. Both are soooo good.
this is a really esoteric one Original-rare studio tape instrumental many years later-Paul Rodgers along with Jimmy Page greatly expanded this tune
Wonderful, TD! Both versions are great. I just recently found out that this one by LZ was a cover. I never knew that! LZ cover The original . . . I can say that I like Led Zep's version a lot better. They changed it up a bit to make it their own. One of many awesome LZ tunes.
these both are "covers" of a traditional british folk tune. The Fairport Sandy Denny version is more traditional. The Steeleye Span version draws from Eastern European music and is in three parts. THe first part shows why Melody Maker said Maddy had the greatest voice in British rock Sandy Denny was way way up there too-so good she was the only guest singer on a LZ record (the Battle for Evermore) anyway, very different versions of an old tune
This one starts off with "Take Me To Church" by Hozier, but then Annie Lennox steps in and is just amazing. The last 3 minutes, IIRC, are Annie doing a cover of "I Put A Spell On You." Hozier and Annie were the saving grace for the Grammies, IMO. They gave the ceremony a lot of class, style and talent that it desperately needed. Lol. i have a natural talent to recognize voices well for me it is obvious also, from a character point of view john had that nasty acerbic part of his personality Paul was always on the sweeter side that was the yin and yang of the beatles this cover has the characteristic bad boy john signature but regardless, i can recognize the voice like i say fir me it is obvious
How about a movie's cover song This performance really gets to me and I don't like hard, hard rock. And the words have little to do with the emotions that swell and ebb as I listen and watch. The words are like, more about Vikings. Seems like the movie made the song. Moi Immigrant Song Song by Led Zeppelin A-ah-ahh-ah, ah-ah-ahh-ah We come from the land of the ice and snow from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands To fight the horde and sing and cry, Valhalla, I am coming On we sweep with, with threshing oar Our only goal will be the western shore Ah-ah-ahh-ah, ah-ah-ahh-ah We come from the land of the ice and snow from the midnight sun where the hot springs FLOW How soft your fields, so green can whisper tales of gore, of how we calmed the tides of war We are your overlords On we sweep with, with threshing oar Our only goal will be the western shore S-so now you better stop and rebuild all your ruins for peace and trust can win the day despite of all you're losin' Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh Ahh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh r > g No

Cream's incomparable bassist Jack Bruce wrote this song and his good friend (who produced some of Cream's top records) covered it which makes sense because Felix Pappalardi was often called America's Jack Bruce as was his band (Mountain) called America's answer to the super group Cream This version by Jack was dedicated to Felix who was shot fatally by his wife this cover was much earlier with Felix doing the lead vocals (1970)
Another one from SRV, this time doing Superstition. Original Superstition ~ Stevie Wonder Covered by SRV ~
