Bork didn't belong on the SC.

Used to talk with a high powered DC lawyer that knew Bork. He was very conservative, but he didn't have a problem with Bork not getting on the bench at the SC.

He said he lacked the judicial temperament that was needed.

This is by a Republican that worked in Congress:

I’ve watched people die from pancreatic cancer. It sucks. Today I’m saying a prayer for her family and friends.

I hope she loved being on the SCOTUS because she never got time to just be an old retired person. RIP.

As we all knew, she was the on deaths door for at least a year and was completely absent. Should have retired gracefully but Democrats forced us to pay her for a year while she wheezed and moaned.

It’s sad she died, but in what other ****ing job can you remain employed while being a corpse? It’s exploitive BS.

Dems stared it with Bork and then-when the GOP had a majority and enough votes to seat-they prevented a guy that all three former Dem Solicitor Generals supported for an appellate court-Miguel Estrada-and my former suitemate at Yale-Peter Keisler (a man even the NY Times noted had the upmost sense of fairness) from having hearings. After that nonsense, I hope MM rams someone through-someone who will counter the nonsense that RBG and the other anti-second amendment justices tried to impose on our nation.

Yeah I heard all that crap. complete nonsense. I knew the man. He an my father were classmates in HS. His son, Charlie, was someone I knew well in College and I had more than a few discussions with his sister Ellen.

Now tell me why the dems wouldn't let Estrada (who worked for the CLINTON SG-and that SG supported him) and Peter Keisler have hearings when both men had the votes to be seated?

He might not have the votes. There are moderates ( pray they have integrity ).

We'll have to wait and see.

After the riots started, it became pretty clear that not all rules are used equally.

One thing that McConnell did what dems would NOT do is not give someone who is selected, fairly early in the last year, a hearing. Yeah, I know what Biden said, but they gave a hearing, nevertheless.

That's what started all this ****. McConnell wouldn't even give Garland a hearing, which is unprecedented, as far as I know.

the entire logic McConnell used was 'let's see what the voters say' which is the rationale he used for waiting until the election.

If he doesn't use that same rationale now, he will be a hypocrite, but, of course, they don't mind being called a hyprocrite.

If Trump really was the dictator the hysterical Boo Hoo Hillary lost crowd believed, you all would be terrified to constantly insult and ridicule the man . The fact you do so brazenly, proves Trump is no Hitler. Hitler would have had such people shot-or worse

Well, when Obama nominated Merrick Garland in February 2016, McConnell absolutely refused to give him a single hearing, claiming that something called "the Biden rule" about not making SCOTUS nominations in an election year prevented him from doing so. How much would you be willing to bet me that he won't completely ignore that rule now, with a Republican (in name, anyway) sits in the Oval Office.

The GOP in the Senate has no honor left among them. Hypocrites, the lot of 'em.

DC court of appeals nominee Estrada and Fourth circuit and later DC circuit nominee Peter Keisler were denied hearings by the dems. And they were the minority for Estrada and the first Keisler nomination.

Resorting to "we all know" is the fallback position of someone without a valid argument for their point.
