Australia's plummeted to basically zero no new infections, and then BOOM. New Zealand was well and truly down to zero, and still had a second wave.

Thankfully, Australia has absolutely hammered this second wave - getting new cases down from over 700 to under 20 per day. I don't like Sweden's chances if they get hit with another wave, given their refusal to go to protocols.

Glad you included Vietnam. Same is true in Thailand. Main reason for lower death rates is the general health of the populace. Much less obesity and much more exercise.

To borrow from FDR, fear of the virus is a much greater danger to Americans than the virus itself.

And our illustrious mainstream media and various bureaucrats like Fauci, Tedros and Gates have induced fear 24/7 since this thing began.

We've sacrificed our quality of life issues for no gain at all, only great loss. And you defend it. :?

You never did it properly, that's why. Check out what has happened in Melbourne (Australia). Took less than two months to get the second wave under control. That's how you do it ... not pointless half measures as has happened in America.

If you don't fear the virus you're an idiot

    Do you fear car crashes?

    Do you fear getting ebola?

They're surr as hell not doing better in terms of liberty. I would rather die of Coronavirus than be stuck with these insufferable bureaucrats a second longer.

Believe it or not utilitarianism is not the only value worth holding.

It is very warm in south Asia, this type of virus does better in a cooler environment.

Yes, Brazil & most populated parts of India are noted for their cool, almost arctic climates. That no doubt explains the low case numbers & deaths in those nations.

Yes, you would think by now there would be more understanding of the science in your world. Prove me wrong and explain to the forum why hot weather in SE Asia affects infection rates differently than in the Southern US. If you can’t, stop and think about why your sources of information don’t think it’s important you understand the difference.

Yep, just wait until the hot weather arrives and the virus will just disappear :)

LOL. Exactly the response I expected. Until you have a bit of understanding on the subject perhaps you should refrain from making statements like the dinosaur comment. It exposes lack of knowledge.

Why don't you explain it then and include Brazil, India and Iran in your analysis?

You do not know the difference between correlation and causation. Likely you do not WANT to know the difference.

    Internet insta-experts...

They know law better than profs that teach constitutional law, science better than scientists.

Next they will try brain surgery...

I’ve been doing so for months here. I’ll give you the 30,000 ft view again.

It is a fact heat, humidity, and sunlight have a negative effect on longevity of this virus. But if we isolate ourselves from their effects through climate controls and enclosed spaces the effects are meaningless. We see this over and over in reality.

The percentage of households with climate control in the southern US is in the 90% range. In SE Asia it’s 15%.

Want to guess which province in India has the most cases of C19? Yep, the areas with the most climate controlled spaces.

Brazil has nowhere near the rates of climate control as the Southern US but more than most countries. Iran I don’t know much about.

The point is, heat, humidity and sunlight are effective. But not if humans choose their microclimate comforts over letting nature prevail.

It looks like the big problem is nobody seems to be able to take a systems approach to any aspect of the pandemic. Because infections occur during hot weather they assume hot weather doesn’t matter. They ignore human ability to create microclimates, the fact affluence allows for this as well as causes comorbidity such as obesity and diabetes. Same with putting all emphasis on masks and letting social distancing and not engaging in unnecessary activities go by the wayside.

Don’t have time right now for more details but that’s the cliff notes version.

The people dying in Brazil and India don't have any form of climate control, some don't even have anything that could be described as a roof over their heads - they are in the poorest communities
