I share your thoughts on team sport politics. It can be nothing other than division, and that can be nothing other than the end of a nation. One of the worst things about this is the loss of any kind of party principles beyond the idea of winning.

Thankfully, we have more of a balance in Congress and a president elect who isn't fixated on ratings and his own image. I'm probably being overly idealistic, but if we could use this as a way to focus on pros and cons of issues instead of the next election, we might actually have a future.

It seems to me that Biden's lack of folks hanging on his coat tail puts the focus back into Congress and diminishes the growing concept of an authoritarian president.

All true, but Biden still won by what looks like will be, when all votes are counted, something like 7 million popular votes. That's not negligible.

    I did.
People will look at it exactly as I said, this is true regardless if you like this or not. Trump spent less money than obama and out performed him with a better economy. People will see that and the obstructionism he faced and the fake news and remember him very fondly.

I answered it directly regardless if you choose to recognize that or not. Also, comparing to dems, Trump is an angel.

That in my opinion shows that folks wanted to be rid of Trump. It's not an embrace of Democratic Party policies or ideology. Independents went for Biden by a 54-42 margin according to the latest exit polling which is still on going. In 2016 they went to Trump by a 46-42 margin with 12% voting third party, against both major party candidates.

I haven't seen the voting percentages for the house races, just the ongoing count of which party has won seats. It seems since there will be a net gain for Republicans in the house, 215-197 at last counting with 23 still remaining. The GOP flipped 8 Democratic seats, the Democrats 3 for a net gain so far of 5 for the GOP. It seems independents which went for Democratic congressional candidates by a 54-42 margin in 2016 resulting in a 40 seat Democratic gain were probably closer to 50-50 this year or with a slight 52-48 Democratic advantage. The same can be said of the senate, governorship and state legislatures.

We'll know more once the exit polling is finalized which it isn't as of yet.

I hope those who were motivated enough to vote this time will continue to vote in every election. Let democracy prevail!

Exit polls are not that easy to interpret this time, given the huge number of people who voted my mail. But you are right about independents like me, who voted against Trump more than for Biden, and who dislike extremist leftists (and extremist rightists, too).

I'm in the same boat. Although I like to refer to myself as a swing voter. One who supports the GOP on some issues, the Democrats on other issues with a lot of issues I just don't give a dang about.

Although I preferred Amy Klobuchar and Gabbard over Biden, Biden was preferred over the rest. Yes, like many, my vote was more against Trump than for Biden. Although Biden will do nicely. I'm satisfied he won.

Shame..you cant even be honest with your self.
Figured as much..People like this must exist in order for Trump to have ever been elected. Trump supporters are so easy, just the stance alone describes a persons whole life. I know everything about you and why you cant face the truth. So have fun with that assumption guess. The one benefit of Trump is he gathered all the like minded folk into one term. "Trump supporter". Not republican..Republicans at least have sense and can be honest with themselves. If not for Trump, I may have been republican these last 4 years myself. Oh well. Maybe next time the party will put up a decent candidate that can at least maintain his job, and doesent invite the coddled proudboy types.

In the end..you just support a demonstrated failure of a president.

I supported President who outperformed Obama while spending less.

Who removed the chance of a hillary president.

Who got us a 6/3 advantage

    Prison reform

    etc.

You may not like it, but it is you who isn't being honest with yourself. He was a good President, and will be remembered as such.

He is such good president and person that you can’t even answer a single yes or no question directly regarding his basic character.

Somehow I don’t think you even believe it but are unable to accept it for some strange reason.

I have directly answered you, your refusal to acknowledge this is not my fault. Meanwhile you are voting for a party that exhibits blatant and prideful racism towards white people.

I genuienly do believe it, i didnt fall for the fake news of the msm. They could have done the same thing to obama, but they gave him the red carpet.

In what post did you answer “yes” or “no”?
Let me guess, I should look it up for you or you don’t have time to look or will you just repeat “I have directly answered you” for the fifth time.

    Such a strange ideology

Nothing strange about it, its not my responsibility to bend over backwards for you. But my statement stands on both accounts.

it will be like 2018. Initially appearing to one a "blue trickle", which will end up being a bigger victory than initially anticipated.

Aw, you think I believe Trump has lost. Or that I accept the science fiction he's in thrall to some foreign entity when in truth the Dems are bought and sold, tattooed and herded by George Soros. Full stop yourself.

Admittedly it's rare for an incumbent to lose, but it's also NOT unprecedented to return and win a second four-year term (for Trump himself and the Pence administration to follow).

I will not concede a loss by Donald Trump until the final certification of the Electoral College vote, just because the Associated Press says he won.

In the last six months Trump cut unemployment in half. Funny thing how those weekly stories lauding the Dems forgot to laud Trump for pulling us out of a terrible hole. They had a doddering seatwarming old sex pervert to elect.
