The certainly didn't like some of Trump's trade deals but their hate for Democrats was even bigger as Farmers voted overwhelmingly for Trump. They pretty much are the people that the Dems make fun of all the time with their guns and Bible. But yes, both sides have screwed farmers at one time or another.
The truth is, I didn't even really think about the guns until people made a stink about it. I was actually trying to figure out what they were since they looked interesting. So now I guess guns are so deadly that you can't even look at them when talking about schools, over the internet, or some kids are going to get killed.
I'm guessing you have a theory as to why? Those were not just any guns. They were long range single shot handguns. If this guy was trying to troll libs why not an AR-15 or AK-47? Personally, I would love to have an XP-100 like the one hanging on the wall. A classic. https://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2016/10/12/a-look-back-at-the-remington-xp-100-pistol/
Yes, they are more important. Teachers can be grocery store workers, grocery store workers can't be teachers. You picked a bad example.
Private Unions... Public Unions are an abomination and nothing more than a blight on the community in which they exist.
Ok, close all the schools and all the grocery stores. See which one gets opened first. That's when you know who's more important. Teachers are important. I'm just saying that they aren't more important than other occupations like they think they are. There are hundreds of jobs that are actually more important. Sanitation workers, power line workers, snow plow drivers, etc. Cities will literally shut down without these people. No so with teachers.
I'm assuming you could support this nonsense right?...... I know you won't. You probably won't even try. Talking points are good enough for the left.
Teacher Union Chief: Yeah, We Can’t Wait For Universal Vaccination To Reopen Schools. Trying to stall until end of the school year. Chuck "Todd presses Weingarten on demands from the unions that schools remain shut until children get vaccinated — which will take years — Weingarten shifts to cheerleading for Joe Biden’s COVID-19 relief plan:"
That's easy: There's a lot of parents out there having to deal with their kids 24/7 who desperately want the schools to start taking their kids off their hands for awhile and I'm sure many of said parents have been begging their governors to re-open the schools. It's amazing how many parents have suddenly discovered how hard teaching a child can be and they'd rather it be our job again. Well, can't do that until the teachers are vaccinated. There is a health issue, I mean, I've taught K-1 and these kids are walking clouds of bacteria at the best of times, sorta like Pig-Pen from Peanuts except with a fog of viruses surrounding them instead of dirt. Factor in Wuhan-19, and there ya go. There's also the issue of how with grocery stores it's much easier to keep a 6-foot distance between people than schools. I'm a teacher and I personally don't think I'm any more important to society than anyone else who puts in a day's work for a day's wage but I do understand the reasoning here. There's a skateboard park a couple miles away from me and every day I see a couple hundred teenagers crowded there, few if any wearing masks. Put these kids into a crowded school with unvaccinated teachers? That'd be a death sentence for many of us. But parents want the schools to take their kids off their hands, said parents are voters, so our Ruling Class demands teachers get moved up to close to the top of the list so schools can reopen. Case closed.
In some cases, I'm sure you have a valid point. The problem is with the teacher union basically demanding that teachers continue to teach from home. If there's that much risk then perhaps it's time to move on to a safer career and allow newer educators the chance to work for the kids?
If you search up my older posts - screw it, just take my word for it: I'm not a huge fan of my teacher's union. For the almost thirty years I've been a member, mine has taken cronyism to its frightening limit. I will admit that since the AFSME ruling it's been a lot better - maybe because now they know we can just quit. There's another issue - even if we could magically cure all cases overnight, Distance Learning is with us forever now. Just dealing with the discipline issues alone - the kids that spend more time in the office than the classroom - like I said, it's never going away completely. Maybe another time I'll talk about it but I gotta sleep.
I live in a VERY heavy Ag state, and I work with many co-ops on a daily basis. Rural residents (farmers) are VERY heavily republican: the Blue counties are the 4 main cities. Everything else is rural farm country. For many farmers its not about "dems" talking down to them, its about "gays, guns and god". But for many of them it's also about business. People seem to forget that every farmer IS a business. His farm, family farm or factory farm, is a business. And the republican party is seen as the party of business. Factual or not, it is seen as the party of business
Absolutely. Teachers are necessary to the mental development of our children and our nation. Therefore they should be chained to their desks and their only sustenance be the apples students bring them Oh, and who cares if they die from an agonizing disease brought in by children who are classically immune to it They should be paying us for the ineffable privilege of being around our children whom we can't stand
Private companies (that have private unions) have owners, CEOs, Board of Directors. Those are the bosses and owners who pay the union members. Who are the owners for the members of a Public union? Answer is all of us. When the teachers strike, they strike against all of us.
Conversely, a teacher would come in contact with 30 kids or so on a long term basis. (more on a short term basis). Grocery store workers come in contact with thousands of people every day. I got Corona virus at a grocery store and with everyone wearing masks. I feel bad for those people and wonder what their positivity rate is. Basically, the whole thing sucks.
The differences is that with public sector unions the negotiators on both sides of the table are on the same side.
How so ? Those negotiating on behalf of the state are appointed by the state. My state has a state level office called the "Chief Negotiator" who is appointed by the governor
