This part of your post is good and worthwhile reading. You take the time to acknowledge the problems.

This part of your post isnt so good. You are falling back into the same old "lets blame white CIVILISATION" for the UNCIVILIZED behaviour of abos.
A lot of WHITE settlers came out here as drunks thieves and the dregs of English society, but yet they have managed to prosper.
In schools abos are given the same and in some cases BETTER chances than everyone else. In the workforce there are even ABO ONLY jobs..try advertising a job as white only and see what happens. Abos have only themselves to blame for their troubles and as soon as they do that and stop expecting everything to be handed to them the sooner they as a species will move forward.

Good man, maybe we should all mellow out a little.

The world is an enigma, it can be the most beautiful place and I have seen a lot of them, from the Grand Canyon to the Alps, from the Australian never never to to Las Vegas. I also see the pain, the violence, the bigotry, the hate, the evil destructive forces that are trying to turn man against man, usually, no always for their own selfish needs.

If we all pull together as one, as a group of brothers and sisters we may yet save our country and our lifestyle. If we don't, then our lifestyle will die. It will wilt and die behind chain wire fences, CCTV cameras, desalination plants, hydroponic farms and industrialised megalopolis that will be about as aesthetic as an oil refinery.

Wake up world before it's too late.

My partner also believes in "intervention" where needed, she says it is like radical surgery for cancer patients, it will be hard, painful, leave scars, but without it we all (white and black) will suffer enormously. She quickly points out that while she agrees with it, she doesn't agree with the way it has been done.

She also says, like cancer, we need to find the cause and irradiate it. To me the primary cause is racism and the indifference towards it.

That IS the point. Abos NEED to have someone to blame. Its the victim mentality that has been drummed into them by leftist fools.

NO, i was just putting some historical fact into the argument.

You can not deny that these issues are post colonization.

Can you at least admit that?

Yet more of the victim mentality...
The primary cause of the abo crime problem is they WONT deal with the fact that abo crime is their OWN DOING.

Some people don't have the intelligence to know that. They seem to think that they bare better off now then they were then, of course they are not. Once they could fish in rivers, most of which are dry or close to it now.

Tell me honestly all of you, when was the last time you walked along the banks of the Castlereagh?

True white Aussies (what ever the **** that means?) are smart enough to admit…

    1. These issues are post colonization
    2. White people ****-up too
    3. There was a civilization here before we showed up

I can’t believe I am arguing about this.

All my mates (Bbird/Gwen/bugs/Ian etc etc) must be LOLing.:):)

Sorry efjay – I understand where you are coming from but banging on with-out accepting the facts is just pure ignorance.

I have accepted the fact that whit people (*)(*)(*)(*) up too. I have accepted the fact these problems are post CIVILIZATION.
And i have accepted the fact that before whites showed up there were nomadic uncivilized tribes throwing spears and boomarangs.
Your "mates" are a BIG part of the problem even if they will not admit it. By continuing the "victim" mentality.

We should use history to better understand, not to score points and lay blame. The simple truth is that Australian white colonisation was largely acheived by peolpe trying to escape the poverty, disease and starvation of Europe. Atrocities were comitted by both Aborigines and Europeans, both were the products of their environments, it was the inevitable clash of cultures.

We need to focus on the problems of the moment. It`s futile and dishonest to try to deny that Aboriginal dysfunctionality is at epidemic levels. I don`t know what the answers are, but we MUST URGENTLY, somehow, begin to work on realistic solutions.

Obviously not? Why, because the Aboriginals developed much higher?

Face it, they reached the peack technology that an arid land like Australia would allow.

Developing more advanced technology takes a food surplus. Food surplus takes being able to get a lot of food.

Ffs, the European settlers kept almost dying because 18th and 19th century farming technology was barely enough to produce a lot of food in Australia.

Anyone denying them problem is delusional.

Yes we do, but racism is not the way to make it better. Racism makes nothing better, just sick, twisted souls.

So, this thread has been a complete waste of everyone's time. Efjay is obviously not going to change his mind. Although what that is I think is a mystery to all of us, including him. Seems like any excuse for an argument will do these days. 24 pages of utter bollucks, well done guys.

Safe in the knowledge that I can't possibly make this thread worse, I'm going to throw my 2 cents in.

There are undeniably problems in modern Australia that are unique to the Aboriginal community. The breadth of the issues is enormous. So much so that it appears overwhelming and has been put in the 'too hard' basket by successive governments.

Attitudes such as efjay's are relatively common, especially in rural areas. Now this is just my general observations about the common attitude and not specific to efjay. It's not race that is a dividing issue, although it's easy to assume this is the case. When pushed, most people agree that skin tone, or racial heritage, is not inherently at the cause of increased crime rates/drug probelms/etc among Aborigines. Since social darwinism was disproved a very long time ago, this is comforting. Although of course there are backwater types that are the exception. There is no point in arguing with such people.

The shallow racism is a by product of an anti-welfare mentality. Aborigines are simply the most visually prominent welfare problem. And the problem is highly concentrated and multi-generational. This leads to resentment (which often comes in the form of racism) and misplaced anger.

If we look back historically, there is a pretty clear path of discrimination, repression, segregation, etc, that has lead us to the current problems. Often it was under the delusional of 'helping' the Aborigines. Attempts to 'preserve' Aboriginal culture have also often been detrimental to living standards. Apportioning blame in hindsight is redundant other than to help us look forward.

IMO priority number one is to break the welfare cycle. It is very destructive and I think is at the root of many other problems. The two obvious 'interventions' are getting kids in schools (and keeping them there) and getting able people off welfare and into jobs. The government is already doing things in both of these areas, but needs to ramp this up and make a long term sustained commitment. I think mining companies also have a big role to play here. Although these bastards need strict laws to follow, I am sick of them screwing over local land owners while making billions of dollars.

The other thing, which I will keep banging on about, is that no laws can be race specific. To me this is so obvious that I can't believe I have to argue about it. This does not negate a racial discrimination law, that is still perfectly acceptable because it is non-specific. However the ability of the federal government to make laws specifically over people of the Aboriginal race, is ridiculous. I don't care whether you class such laws a 'positive discrimination' (a contradiction in terms imo) they spit in the face of national equality.

An observation, 'Aboriginal Communities' themselves are a problem. Many of them are too heavily isolated, both geographically and culturally. Yes it is natural for sub-communities to form in population centres. But most of these were artificially created, in the middle of nowhere, with little to no infrastructure and no jobs. Think they've been around too long to relocate people now, so jobs will also have to be artificially created to break the welfare cycle and then over a longer period of time move people to where the jobs are and integrate them back in to the natural economy.

I think resources need to be heavily concentrated around job creation and schooling. Housing projects, etc, are an obvious one.

Saw a thing on the news the other night about some aged/disability care facility for Aboriginal Elders being built. That was running a jobs program for young Aboriginal men. IMO an excellent example of what the government should be doing.

And that is the end of my rant.

PS: Referencing the 'Aboriginal civilization' while accurate in its own right is completely different to saying that there was a 'civilised Aboriginal nation', there was not. It is a redundant argument.
