    3 times less often.
Can we judge your reaction that you're just shrugging it all off?

Maybe it's because they tend to commit three times less violent crime and tend not to resist the police three times as much?

Remember that per capita math you were so fond of? I bet you want to discard that sort of math at this.

It turns out that when you commit crimes at a higher rate and resist the police at a higher rate that you're probably going to have more negative interactions with them no matter what color you are.

I mean imagine that... It's crazy right?
When you commit more crime you tend to have more interactions with the police.

We're talking about unarmed people here, Fatback... who get murdered at 3 times the rate.
But good for you to try and pretend there is no racism, where you previously claimed there is.

Your straw man are getting very boring. Just keep imagining black people are the victims and they don't commit crimes at higher rates that bring them into more contact with the police. Also keep imagining that they don't resist arrest a lot more than others.

You know the very sort of thing that George Floyd was doing.

You're distracting away from the fact that unarmed people pose no threat, and so shouldn't be shot at all. But cops still murder unarmed black people 3 times the rate. And here you are not commenting at all on the racism in the US society, where you previously admitted that it's there.

While I could also put up the sources saying that cops also specifically hunt down black people and ignore crimes committed by white people. As in, white people do equal to even more drug related crime, yet black people are arrested and than later convicted a hell of a lot more. Driving while black is also a thing that's true and where racism by cops play the roll why black people endlessly get pulled over while white people got more infractions when pulled over.

You: "No one on the right says that there is no racism"
But you're avoiding it completely when racism is obviously so there.

That has nothing to do with it - and mate I did not post “Beds are Burning” just as a rock anthem.

World view bias, which we all have to some degree or other can skew things so that the same interaction can be seen in multiple ways. Sometimes it is fitting a narrative to what you expect

I first came across this video I saw Akala and thought “why are they interviewing a street thug?” And then Akala started talking. I was blown away - he is so erudite

You do realize that "unarmed" doesn't equal harmless right? Unarmed people can run you over or grab your gun or assault you or pretend that they have a gun and point a dark object at you.

But at least now you're aware it happens to white people as well.

And thanks to your realization of per capita math you should also understand that committing more crimes will bring you into more contact with the police

Not terribly interested in the video but it's more revealing that you called him a street thug though.

Yes! Even I can leap to a wrong conclusion based on appearance alone however I did change my opinion once I heard him talk - and you should listen to him as he has some very very different and well supported / researched views on how to deal with street violence.

I must confess though that my erroneous first impression was formed less by skin colour and more by the dreadlocks and hat :p

I claimed no such thing so if you're going to attribute things to me that I supposedly said I would appreciate it if you were truthful and double checked those claims.

I don't have a problem with people that decide to turn their life around. Do you have a problem with that?

I would appreciate it if you just single checked the claims you make, but we both know that isn't going to happen. Don't expect others to hold themselves to a standard you never apply to yourself.

Feel free to point out my specific errors should they exist.

How about we just get back on the topic before you and your Australian friend decided to make it about me?

Would that be okay with you guys?

Once again, stop insisting others adhere to a standard you refuse to apply to your own posts. You decided change the topic and make it about another poster.

I'd be OK with you holding yourself to the higher standards you keep insisting others should have. Feel free to start any time.

Oh looky here, how did I know that you would quote that post without including the conversation that happened before it?

Here I'll include it for you since you chose to omit it.

I've been accused of "Putting on the Ritz" but I've never been called a "cracker".
Considering that anyone that disagrees with a leftist... even over a bowl of tomato soup... is automatically a racist... you may have something there.

    At 1/3 of the rate.

If that were so, than the police would have caught a heck of a lot more white drug users and dealers.
But it aint so. Cops are racist, just like the US society.

I know I know..... Very silly of me to expect hate crime standards to apply equally across the board.

Blacks can beat on white people and call them "cracka" all they want and it's just good old-fashioned assault.

But a white person better not say the magic words when the shoe is on the other foot or it's a hate crime for them !

When you keep dividing america focusing on race...you are going to see a rise in race hate crimes. I think I've been very clear on this. It will happen more often on both sides.

    Leads to segregation and divide.

    And I stand by that.

World view bias - why not start looking at statistics instead of “feelings”

Which is why we have to learn to ignore race.

Did anyone on this thread say that? To be honest that is just an excuse to continue racism under the guise of “But he did it toooooooo!”

Well black people get arrested like 500 to 700% more often on drug related charges, compared to white people.... while they all are equally busy with buying and selling drugs. Driving while black got a similar pattern. Getting killed when unarmed follows the same pattern. You know what. Getting a sentence in court also follows the similar pattern (and yes, even taking into account the culprits history: black people systematically get longer sentences)

And what is your response now is like, hinting that black people are racist too. They might be. But the fact is that they are getting the short end of the stick on a massive scale.

You do realize how this all scales, no? When cops systematically pretty much ignore white people using and dealing drugs, it means they avoid getting the 3 strikes and your out theme and more likely to be taking care of the family without being behind bars. And it all funnels towards a white kid trying to drown a black kid, while a second white kid cheers it all on and calls the victim a George Floyd.

And it seems you're getting emotional about it, that it pretty much a 1 way street.

You can't go ignore racism though or the recent past.

And a part of it is, that the entire generation of Biden and Trump were born and raised in the apartheid era of the US. That Arian / Judean generation flat out personally benefitted from it at the expense of black people. And look at Hunter Biden go. That next generation is just profiting from it right now.
