Who, George Floyd? Are you being racist? These cops used an authorised technique they had been trained in, Floyd is dead because he chose to be a criminal, chose to resist arrest and chose to take a lethal amount of fentanyl.

Nothing like doubling down on anti-intellectualism.

We might as well just get rid of the police and replace them with robots. No thinking involved, just follow the programming.

Of course there is that empathy shortage that is so common among conservatives. How hard is it to understand that when someones has their knee on the neck of another, and that other is gasping for air, struggling to say "I can't breathe", that perhaps one is killing another.

Intellectualism is logic, reason, and facts, which is what I’ve presented. You are correct, you are doubling down on anti-intellectualism because your arguments are based on emotion-the way you want things to be-instead of facts and logic.

It’s big of you to finally admit you will continue to use anti-intellectualism in your personal posting behavior. I salute you for copping to such in your most recent post quoted above. But we were all well aware of your disdain for fact and logic. :)

Ayep... Portland ranks up in the top 5 of least diversified cities with less than 7% black population.

No one is more skilled at running off poor black people than rich white progressive Democratic politicians. Beyond economically starving them out, if that failed they'll have white kids dress in black and burn them out.

White progressive Democrats - the modern KKK - have kept the Confederacy and racial segregation alive and well. Racial segregation is their second highest expertise after stealing taxpayer money.

At my lowly station in life I keep forgetting about how much more intelligent and knowledgeable conservatives are. However would us liberals ever find employment if it were not for all the wise conservatives with their willingness to overpay for coffee. I should come out of my parent’s basement some day and see the wonderful world conservatives have provided for us.

All along us liberals have been so mistaken, thinking that excessive policing was a bad thing. Something that had the net effect of suppressing freedoms. That those countries who had excessive police enforcement tended to be undesirable. But leave it up to conservative wisdom to reveal to us that real freedom is a boot to the neck. That everyone deserves a bullet to the back. Nothing smells more like obedience than death. We don’t need no stinking democracy, we gots lots of police.

If only one day, I could absorb all that fine conservative thinking. I been trying. Besides all the wisdom I find in forums and blogs. I even been watching them reality shows where people drive trucks, wrestle alligators, and bid on junk in storage units and auctions. Do y’all always bicker like that?

I am not only an intellectual by your definition, I am orders of magnitude more “liberal” than you as well.

I’m sorry your feelings are hurt by the fact rural counties in Oregon subsidize Portland in direct opposition of your claim to the contrary.

Just for the record, as a real liberal, I’m no fan of “excessive” policing. I find it humorous you attribute so many things to me I’ve never said or implied on PF.

Again, I find it humorous, but not surprising. As an authoritarian, you must resort to such practices because facts and logic are useless tools in an authoritarian toolbox. If your ideas were legitimate, you could present facts and logic to convince others of their merit. Instead you present demonstrably false information, thinly veiled ad hominem, and strawman arguments. To further entertain us, you try and pass false information, ad hominem, and strawman arguments off as intellectualism.

Welcome to the new year, and more of the same old mess you've made of your city, Portland.

If you watched the entire video of Floyd, the cops showed an amazing amount of restraint, empathy and gave him every benefit of the doubt. Floyd died because he broke the law then chose to be on his stomach with a knee on his neck. He easily could have been on his way to the station sitting in AC and relative comfort. But he refused to sit in the car after being arrested then resisted because he had too many drugs in his system. Countless people have survived the way he was treated without incident.

Still unfortunate but easily avoidable if Floyd just allowed himself to be arrested. But he was stupid which is always why arrests go wrong.

The stupidity happened when he took a fatal dose of drugs, everything after that was a matter of the helplessness of drug-induced insanity.

I’ve been reading your posts, word for word, to other people. Everyone finds you as funny as I do. The part I find particularly knee slapping, is how you first insisted that going by GDP per capita proved your claims. Then when I pointed out that GDP per capita actually disproved your claims, you went on how I was one of those who thought GDP per capita had meaning, as if it didn’t. And then, apparently forgetting your turnabout, resorted back to incorrectly claiming that GDP per capita proved your claims. It is made even funnier, in light of your claims, that you feel you have the need to insult me and question my character and integrity. As if that somehow props up your rather ridiculous claims.

By hey, who am I to say, in the face of your great wisdom. Your overarching breathe of knowledge, your enlightening arguments, the beauty of your logic, and your well mannered writings. I am nothing but humbled.

The thing is I claimed more revenue per capita was coming from rural counties. I did not invoke GDP, you introduced GDP to the discussion. Tax revenue is not GDP. You and your friends are very ignorant of economics it seems. But if making false claims about my posts makes you all happy, I’m happy, because I’m all for people being happy. :)

At the end of the day, you made the claim Portland subsidizes rural counties. I supplied the data showing it’s in fact the opposite, with rural counties paying more state taxes per capita than Portland metro counties. You told a fib and got caught. I know that stings because you think whatever you imagine in your mind is fact. Unfortunately for you, states publish data and the state data conflicts with your erroneous opinion.

Perhaps you or one of your friends could post something explaining to the PF crowd how per capita GDP and state tax revenue are the same thing.

You are always welcome to provide facts here instead of demonstrably false opinions. I’m hopeful someday you do.
