Even if so it does not change the reality that the State Department had Israel sussed. They knew that the creation of Israel at that time would just result in a continuous state of wars with Israel always claiming she was the victim and demanding she take more space for safety. They were correct. They also knew that the creation of an Israeli state at that time would result in the US losing the support of the Arabs. The US was very highly thought of in the ME at the time and had promised to help all those wanting self determination. To not allow that to the Palestinians would destroy that. They also believed it would throw the arab world off kilter and not allow it to settle and move on. They were correct in all these things. Because of that they did everything they could to oppose it.

There had been a joint US/UK group who went to see what was possible. They believed that creating any kind of Independent State the way things were then would result in never ending war as we have seen as Israel bit by bit takes over the homes of the Palestinians keeping them as captives while she does it until now the fanatics in the US do not even care about law and the taking of lives and justice and everything the West ever stood for is being destroyed.

The US has lost everything it stood for supporting you. However I am also aware that at the time Israel came into being there were plenty of Jews who had conscience and who wanted the Palestinians to have justice. One of the last only died a short while ago.

I also know that without the American Christian fanatics it is very likely that the 2 state solution would have come into being, that they have been the people who have been determined that Israel will take all the land their bible says and then there will be Armageddon - and they are doing pretty well working for that I would say. Unfortunately bit by bit most Israelis have moved this way to the extreme right. No people who believed in justice could do what the Israelis are doing to the Palestinians but the worse they get the more the US cries Hooray. I was reading today that in the US the Christian fanatics are not getting replacements. However they have managed to spread it all around the world to Christians - you will know this as they meet in Israel.
