    If I were asleep and a window was sliding open in my bedroom I would first advise them (in a loud manner) to leave in less than five seconds. If they continued I would have no choice but to fire or lob a hand grenade (lol). If I awoke to the sound of feet hitting the floor sorry no warning I would shoot first. I have no way of knowing if the perp has a weapon and that alone is the reason for shooting first. The problem with many gun control advocates is they have never been mugged thieved or lived in a high crime hi' violence area. I have. So weapons are my friend. Other reasons I don’t fear weapons and look on them as tools is that I am ex military American and have had a cc permit for nearly a as decade due to having on person large sums of cash (my vending route), I feel much safer to have a weapon at hand in any of these 'activities'. Now if I were going to the park in the middle of town I would not feel the need to pack, still I would not want to have my RIGHT to pack infringed upon. And that is another thing that most UK gun control advocates haven’t a clue of... why (our constitutional) rights are important to many Americans.

    Since when did someone use a story from the Bible to justify a stance for or against guns?

    If you open your mouth you're telling them where you are. Why would you do that? Where I live, simply that someone was sliding your window open and trying to enter is grounds to blow their heads off, and rightly so.

    You've never seen people talk about the 2A being "god given" and superseding the Constitution?

    You've never seen people use the "swords to plowshares" reference in relation to the firearm debate?

    I agree that the bible has as much credibility as thin air, and I agree that the 2A is solely from the BoR...

    Neither of these facts is relevant to the point made.

    That's nice but the Founding Fathers didn't see it that way. They cited God openly in their writings.

    IN CONGRESS, July 4, 1776.

    This is Texas. I keep my EDC by my bed. My Mossberg 500 is also nearby. My dogs will wake me and slow them down enough to be ready for them.

    I live in a neighborhood with a lot of space between houses. I can't depend on my neighbors for security, but we do watch out for each other and often call each other if we don't recognize somebody.

    LOL, you have no idea what you are talking about and when Democrats tried this last time they got shut down because of the way they wanted to use it. Nothing like using 'disease' to shut down lawful ownership of guns.

    I have a rifle in the closet next to my bed, but I don't snuggle up with a gun when I go to sleep at night. That's why I have a wife. ;)

    Once again, you seem to be asserting that all administrations are the same...

    Would you similarly assert that the Reagan and GW Bush priorities were identical?

    Would you also deny that Reagan spoke in favor of gun control?

    Besides, you don't seem to be able to deny that any serious study of gun deaths would be damning... What kind of person goes out of their way to hide the truth to promote something they know to be harmful?

    Progressive administrations, specifically democrats, appear to be focused on making it hard for law abiding citizens to buy what they want. In that regard, the Clinton administration and the Obama administration are much the same in sentiment. Clinton with the ill fated assault weapons ban and pumping up the CDC to make guns an illness, Obama making it difficult for gun manufacturers to get financing, shutting down their credit lines, executive orders, requiring doctors to ask about guns, which will go into a national database, and also wanting to pump up the CDC to make guns and illness.

    As a conservative, I do. I approved of the Patriot act initially, in the heat of 9/11, but have been against the renewals of it.
