As the only mod to ever give me an infraction I have mixed feelings...

Seriously, no, I earned it and you have always been the epitome of professionalism. If your goal was to protect the concept of freedom of speech, I would humbly suggest you succeeded.

No doubt the most respected Mod ever to grace our pages. The freedom of speech we all enjoy here has so much to do with this lovely person. Such a loss for us..

JP all the best, and we will try our utmost in keeping what's most sacred to us and what you instilled in all of us.

There is no compromise to Freedom of speech..

It seems that recently, many excellent and outstanding moderators are resigning the Political Forum. Why is that? There's gotta be some basic, overall reason. Just curious.

The moderators seem to a great job, while allowing for freedom of expression and keeping it dignified at the same time. The forum is very popular and has a lot of traffic.

Having been a volunteer for some local political fund raising activities, I know that some politicians (or at least their staff members) anonymously peruse this forum to see what people are saying.

Ahhhh! So, it's YOU that I have to thank for making this a real haven for political expression. I've posted at several boards in my time and this one is, clearly, by leaps and bounds, the best moderated board I've ever seen.

And even though I know it isn't easy to be fair and tolerant but also reponsible and sensible and human when moderating, to my eye it just seemed like a smoothly run board, but one where those qualities were intended and achieved by the mods & admin. They (you all) stayed active but kept your own personalities and egos largely in check and invisible or transparent in my assessment.

Like the solar system I thought the sense of this place, the way it feels, just came about through natural forces.

    But now I know differently.

And now I know it's you I have to thank for making PF this way.

    Thank you. Very much.

    PK

Good luck to you JP5. Working out of sight behind the scenes for the common good of an environment is something many leaders could take note of. Thanks for your work.
