"Doug Jones, a Democrat, won the special election on Tuesday to fill the United States Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, now the attorney general. Mr. Jones aimed to create a lead in the urban counties that include Birmingham and Montgomery, and across a band of largely black counties. Strong support for Roy S. Moore, the Republican, was expected in rural, mostly white parts of the state and in its northern half."

Good it's over, bring on the general election where someone who represents the true views of the state can be elected instead of one who won by default as the Democrats denied the voters a fair election.

    Amazing result

The last time a Democrat won a senate seat from Alabama was nearly 30 years ago and that guy switched parties.

Damning statement from Senate Leadership Fund CEO Steven Law: “This is a brutal reminder that candidate quality matters regardless of where you are running. Not only did Steve Bannon cost us a critical Senate seat in one of the most Republican states in the country, but he also dragged the President of the United States into his fiasco.”

And look what they had to do to win it. And the fact will not be that Alabama has a Senator who does not reflect the political views of the state. that's called being illegitimate.

This now gets interesting. We get to see if lefties still pursue moore legally because they want to defend women or if it really was just politics and they dont give two shits about them.

Will be the last you ever hear of them. Now what does this means for future candidates on both sides that mere allegations can cost you an election.

It was a repudiation of Moore and nothing else, the state is still overwhelmingly for Trump.

Trump went all in on this race.

    This is a major rebuke.

Trump supported Moore's opponent and then campaigned for the seat.

What does that have to do with what I said it does not change the fact that Jones will not represent the majority of the state. He won by default not on the issues.
