With 52 votes, as was expected, Republicans rammed through a nominee that should not have been appointed.

Will Democrats pack the court? If either the ACA or Roe v Wade is overturned (or both), Biden will have no choice. But in any case, I think it's unavoidable. Assuming, of course, that Democrats obtain control of the Senate.

I've said several times what I would do if I were Biden. First, I would give Merrik Garland the hearings that he deserves. He needs to be appointed. He is a conservative but fair justice. And then... Democrats should ask Republicans for a list of 10 candidates. If they are serious candidates, Biden should choose one from that list.

Regardless of how, this has to be done.

Packing the court simply means that SCOTUS will be held by whoever most recently held government.

First of all the op knows full well that if the rolls reversed the Democrats would have no issue packing the court.

Just like in 2016 they called it the legal obligation of the of Congress to hold an immediate hearing to confirm Obama's nominee. they even called for Republican congressman to be removed from their seats for failure to perform their duties.

they don't care one bit whether it happens before or after an election all they care about is who is doing the appointing. This goes for both sides.

 

Thus my proposal: have the other party submit the candidates. Merick Garland was a Republican candidate. I don't care what party proposes the justices. I just want them to not be partisan. The three appointed by Trump have all signaled that they will be partisan. Especially Barret.

 

How is it two stolen judges? To you think Barack Hussain should have gotten his appointment and then not appoint Trump's now?
