I wanted to post pictures but that would be a Rule 9 violation. However, you can follow the Wikipedia link to find many interesting photographs and drawings of anal sex between men and men, men and women, and women and women.

The argument for anal sex is that it is a private concern between consenting adults.

    But is it really?

When a certain sexual practice carries with it a high chance of spreading deadly diseases, is it really only a matter between two consenting adults? Doesn't the spread of deadly diseases concern all of society?

Certainly, if black plague were to be found in the city of Chicago, the government would immediately quarantee Chicago, not letting anyone in or out. And not even the ACLU could complain, because the government has emergency powers to stop the spread of disease.

And yet AIDS, which is just as deadly as black plague, is treated lightly, and nothing is done to check its advance. On the contrary, our media is now ENCOURAGING people to engage in anal sex, and spread AIDS even further.

    Why the double standard?

Because sex is fun and people like it.

Because it's two consenting adults enjoying themselves to some sex. It's nothing bad, and in fact your article says "unprotected". It's not bad for you, if you are using protection.

So if feels good, do it.

    Got it.

Condoms break, so there really is no such thing as "protected sex." I have a 28-year-old daughter to prove it.

I see where you are coming from, but STD's don't pose a large danger to the general public. If it was something that wasn't just spread by blood or sex then I'd probably agree with you.

Pregnant women give AIDS to their babies, so its not limited to sexual intercourse.

So you're going to ignore the 80+ plus chance of a condom working, or if you remain with the same partner that the chances of getting an STI are slim to none?

If you're having anal sex with a person with AIDS, you will eventually get AIDS, no matter what protection you are using. There is no such thing as "safe sex" with a person with AIDS.

What? Protection works incredibly well, and the chances of something bad happening are slim to none. A couple where someone has AIDS, understands that risk.

I had one month of sex with my girlfriend before the condom broke and we had a baby.

Would you take that same chance when the risk is not having a baby, but dying a slow agonizing death from AIDS?

How often were you having sex? My guess is that you were doing something wrong with the condom, or you fell in that 12% that does end up having to deal with an STI or pregnancy. And my answer is this, if two consenting adults are willing to have sex, let them. No harm in it.

I don't think the comparison between HIV/AIDS and the Black Plague is a very legitimate comparison...

At any rate, you're just as likely to catch AIDS from vaginal intercourse. Regardless of the sexual act, it shouldn't be the responsibility of the federal government to dictate what is and isn't permissible when it comes to sex.

Please mind me being blunt but, exactly what point are you trying to get at? So far there's the question of whether or not the government should intervene in sexual matters, why anal sex should be tolerated, and why there hasn't been more research into finding a better "cure" for AIDS.

+If a condom breaks during anal sex there is no baby .
    - you need a lubricant that it is glycerine based not oil based

You can also chock on a spoonful of water .

Almost certain that the pregnant woman didn't get pregnant from anal sex.

    Anyway:

Just to bring some facts in here:

    a) the Media is not encouraging everyone to go out and have them some butt sex.
    b) Anal sex can is more dangerous than vaginal sex or oral sex if either partner is infected.
    c) A truly monogamous couple not infected with HIV cannot transmit it to the other partner.
    d) A person who has HIV and is under medical treatment now is unlikely to transmit AIDs- if the couple also uses condoms, the odds are less than a woman getting AIDS from an infected man through vaginal intercourse.

I don't know whether the OP thinks the police should be checking to make sure no one has butt sex in their bedrooms, or just thinks that anal sex should not be encouraged.

I think that the real answer is to make sure people know the risks- from survey's I have seen- it is one of the to sexual fantasies of heterosexual men. Good sex education is a good place to start.

Millions of American men are indeed more than willing to take that chance- their girlfriends are usually a tad bit more reluctant.

I'm glad you used the term STI in preference to STD. The term STD lost favour with the medical profession some years ago.

I have a friend here in Laos, a local and a very well respected doctor. She is THE specialist in this country on STI. She first mentioned STI during a conversation to me and why STI is preferred over STD about five years ago. Her explaination took about a minute.

    Why?!

Not entirely. There are lots of ways that the state interferes in the sex lives of consenting adults, with campagins, advice, regulations and laws.

Yes. The fact is most sexual practices (in person at least) carry risks of spreading deadly dieseases though. As with other health risks the state responds in various ways to that.

Not that it really matters but that isn't true (or at least not that simple). Untreated, plague is much more deadly but it's major risk is the means of transmission which is the key reason quarantine could be appropriate.

How are they doing that exactly?

My guess is because it implies how the disease is transmitted. Am I wrong?

    Just an observation.

If you had been having anal sex, you wouldn't have had a baby.

STI (infections) often have no symptoms but one is till a carrier and can infect another person.

STD (disease) one has symptoms and can infect another person.

Infections like HIV, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Herpes etc there is every chance a person shows no outward symptoms but are still infectious.

With diseases, the patient will show symptoms.

You're right, anal sex is bad. Actually any sex is bad. Human contact is bad too. Tell you what. It's perfectly wonderful to live your entire life without the touch of another human. You're going to be much healthier after you're not sharing microbes with others anymore.

Then, you can spend the rest of your long, happy life enjoying your free time and sleep. :relax:

Did you change condoms each time?
They're only supposed to be used once, you know.
