No - Bali is a wonderful place (not counting Kuta). I enjoyed Sumatra more, but all of Indonesia is a great place to visit. Just be aware that their laws are sometimes different to ours
It's a 14 year old kid ffs! Your attitude sickens me. And doing drugs in Asia isn't necessarily stupid. Believe it or not, there are places where it is safe to do them without fear of cops or arrest. You may be a bit straight to seek out these places, but they do exist. Note: Didn't read whole thread. First few comments were stupid enough
It sickens ME that not only did this idiot kid buy and brag about drugs while in bali but people have the gall to defend him for it. All aussies KNOW what happens to people caught with drugs over there so i along with anyone that has a brain have no pity for him. Nothing to do with being " a bit straight" and EVERYTHING to do with respecting my body and the laws of the country i am a guest in.
The news is now that the boy is a regular pot user, so he probably did buy the drugs...I still think it was a set up, but he played a part in it.
I sometimes wonder just how far backwards we've gone with our attitudes, values and feelings since they decided not to teach the Scriptures in Primary school. Notice, I said scriptures, not religion.
The only people sickened by my posts are those too gutless to face the truth and deal with it. So that would include abos those that support the victim mentality of abos left wing nutjobs warmist freaks labor supports drug users people that support going soft on crime.
I'm certainly not defending the kid. He screwed up big time. The kid should be punished, yes, the law must be upheld, but wanting to leave a 14 year old kid in an Indonesian jail because he messed up is an absolutely disgusting mentality. He's a kid. We all made mistakes around that age. To quote Bill Hicks, 'I WANT YOU TO FIND A F*****N SOUL!!!' Okay, not a bit straight, very straight. And that above post makes you sound like a bigot...Just sayin'
He got caught with drugs in Bali and therefore MUST face indo justice NOT aussie justice. Whats so disgusting about that? He and his parents would have to be the dumbest idiots on the planet to do it and i aint going to loose a wink of sleep over it. My soul is just fine thanks. There is a difference between being a realist and a bigot.. just sayin.
What's disgusting is your attitude. I hear there is a good soul merchant in Indo. Black market of course, so be careful. Such a typical response from a bigot
The great thing is that in the real world there are more that think/feel the way i do about this and those that feel the way you do....There is NOTHING DISGUSTING about expecting one to face the consequences of ones actions. Such a typical response from a left wing nutjob....see how silly you are being.
You don't seem to understand. Of course nothing is disgusting about facing consequences. What is disgusting is your unforgiving mentality that would see a naive 14 year old rot in Indo jail for a childish mistake. Do you get it yet? Is there like a bigot handbook that all you guys read from? Nothing I've said here is even left-wing. You just have a knee-jerk response that assumes anybody who disagrees with you must fall under one of those categories you listed. Hence getting rid of any need to actually think about what is being said.
His age has nothing to do with it. He is old enough to know right from wrong. Nope YOUR liberal approach to this idiots behaviour gave you away as a leftist.
Justify your abhorrent mentality anyway you like, his age has everything to do with it. Read my post again. Let the last two sentences really sink in. But yeah, screw that kid. Why should we have any compassion for kids who make mistakes? Especially when they are looking at Indonesian jail time....And who cares if he was possibly set up and lacked the real-world knowledge to realize it. Naive 14 year olds who mess up once when they are overseas deserve every torturous hour of jail time they get! /sarcasm
He WILL get whats coming to him and thats all that counts. If he is smart he will learn from it and move on.
That's the understatement of the year. Seriously, you're wasting your time trying to get any sense out of that "person".
Hypothetical question, if this 14 year old was accused of murder or a similar cirme would you then be defending his release?
I feel sorry for this kid, I really do. The parents must hold some sort of responsibility, letting your 14 year old wander around in a foreign country without adult supervision is an extremely stupid thing to do. It appears the Indos are going to make an example of him, just as we are making examples of the crew of the Indonesian people smuggling boats. He might get 6 years, interestingly enough this is roughly the sentence most illegal boat crewpeople are getting now under our justice system. There is some parrallel to this, many people think that buying a little pot is quite a trivial offence but in Indonesia it is an extremely serious criminal matter. We take quite seriously the fact that people are being smuggled into this country on boats while the Indonesian public and government wonder what all the fuss is about a few hundred people a year getting dropped off on our shores. The point alos needs to me made that a 14 year old in this country is generally very immature while in indonesia they are considered adults. Its all a matter of cultural perception and it is pointless to attempt to demonise the Indonesions regarding this matter, I hope they treat the kid leniently but then again I also feel a large amount of sympathy for the young crewpeople coming here and serving 5 or 6 years in our prison system for victimless crimes also.
A fair trial is likely in any other country other than one which carries the death penalty. Like Indonesia.
